can you replace the ignition module or do you have to replace the distributor?

I had a major electrical short and the battery blew up on the freeway there was a small fire under the dash

it was the remote door lock controller an aftermarket one from autozone that was on fire and burnt some other wires

and blew up the battery

i think i fixed all the shorts and removed the remote lock BS but the distributor seems to have no spark i tested it like it says in the haynes book

and the book says if its bad to replace the distributor but i found the vg33 IGNITION MODULE that's inside the distributor and seems to be the part i really need

autozone and checkers don't carry this part but i found it on ebay for $60

but i found the distributor for $115 VG33-Distributor

i just need to be shure i fix it so maybe the whole distributor is the way to go its only money.
