exit34rocker1017
Wondering if anyone can help me here. I get a bad vibration (like the whole truck vibrates) when I am not moving and the truck is either reverse, drive, 2 or 1. It does not happen in neutral or park. It gets worse when the brakes are applied. When I let off the brakes to drive, the vibration goes away, and does not happen when I am driving. However at a red light, I stop and the whole truck vibrates to the point where the windows rattle. Any ideas? Thanks Rob
skulptr
sounds like a bad motor or tranny mount.
exit34rocker1017
Found out tonight that the vibration also shutters or goes on and off when the wheels are turned.
rgallant
Yup motor or transmission mount would be my bet, it means you have to get down there and take a look. Broken mounts are pretty easy to see, I know i am going to tell you how to suck eggs but make sure you leave to truck off when you check. If you can not not visually see a broken mount, put a a jack and 2x4 under the engine and lift it up, if it is a broken mount it will separate and be obvious. exit34rocker1017
I opened the hood and looked in when the vehicle was running and in park, and the engine was shaking very slightly, but the vibration was not occurring. How hard is it to change motor mounts?
