Reset OBDII Readiness Monitor

Recommended Posts

A while back I got code P0161. I reset it with my scangauge II. It came back so I checked and indeed my bank2 driver's side rear O2 sensor was out of spec (4.7ohms, the upper limit of normal is 4.3). So I reset the code with the scangauge and replaced the O2 sensor. The code has not come back. However, after 150 miles of driving and following this circuit "http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_set_obd2_readiness_monitors" twice, the scangauge still says "not ready." I am due for smog ASAP, so any ideas how to get the readiness monitor reset faster?

Thanks.

the computer will only check that circuit under certain conditions; it's something like steady-rpm cruising between 50-55mph for at least 60sec. try going for an easy drive where you can sustain 50-55mph for a few minutes. you will have to pass the test 2 or 3 consecutive times for it to pass.

i try to avoid cruising at that speed on the drive to work, because my CEL loves to turn on for 'catalytic converter efficiency below threshold.' :D
