Looks like fun and great scenery! oh... and it was rain'in like a SOB last night.... any worry about flash flood on that trail? It rained last night and into this morning, but all it really did was keep the dust down. There wasn't any mud or standing water, except at the creek area of course. I'd have to say an hour drive, 50+ miles, (seriously guessing) to the trail head, but it depends on where in Scottsdale you are. These were taken about 35-40 minutes into the trail, across the creek a few times. Fist time I was back in that area. How long are you around here for? I'll work on better directions if you want.
