Precise1
Well, I don't have an R50 (don't know/doubt the rear end is the same) and have never replaced rear wheel bearings on a pathy. Going out within 30k miles is not normal. Shaft bent? Did anyone ever curb shoot it hard on that side? As for input, it's always slow around the major holidays. Family, friends, events... BowTied
Never done this on a pathy. On my Jimmy I need to remove the diff cover, pull the axle C clip, and pull the axle. THen the seal and bearing can be removed. Big job there. Check the FSM, I think it is downloadable.
BowTied
I just looked, the section of FSM for this is only .5Mb, PM me your email addy and I will send it to you. It looks like the axle comes out with a slide hammer, very different than my Jimmy.
Geoff57
If you have access to a large bench press it will make the job a whole lot easier. In the FSM the 3 figures showing where to support and where to press the bearing (using a "Suitable tool") when installing is very important A new bearing can be damaged (and fail prematurely) if these cautions are not taken. Also check the axle seal area is OK and doesnt have any deep grooves /scatches Geoff Edited December 29, 2008 by Geoff57
