My shifter button will not press in sometimes whenever I try to shift. It seems to be better in warm weather and much worse in cold weather. Is anyone else having this issue with their pathy? If so what can I do that is a cheap alternative without getting a mechanic involved?

Step harder on the brake pedal. There's a shift lock release built into the brake circuit, so that you cannot shift the truck out of park without having your foot firmly on the brake. In colder weather, it may take more force to activate the circuit.

Is there a way I can just take out the shift lock release? This thing is a pain in the ass. I tried stepping on the break and it doesn't help that much at all. Im beginning to think it might be something deeper inside the console.
