Electric fans are pretty much electric fans regardless of the model, I think. Read around in the sub-95 forum, both 88 and MrJim did electric fan swaps and report that they work well and have simple installations. I'm not sure about the dimensions of the R50 radiator, but if its like the Gen1 Pathys, you're looking at like a 16" fan or so. Around 2000 CFM or more if you can get it, depending on the engine... they're V6s, right?

yes, all R50's are V6's. 16" should work fine, there is a member on AC's board who installed a 16" Permacool Fan and it works great. However, he goes to Baja on a regular basis and says he would have liked it if he had gotten an 18" fan instead.
