Tough one :D

I'd say its a job of an auto sparky. As your going from a 4 cyl signal to a 6 cyl receiver. Might need some kind of resistor for it to work properly :srug:

 

Best bet would be to get a factory rev counter for the TD27 and slot it in (With the right plug & wiring)

I ran into a similar problem with the one I had in Japan. I bought a cluster from a vg30 in the junkyard and it was different. What I ended up doing was disassembling the diesel tach from the cluster and putting it in the vg30 one. It wasn't all that hard.
