p1145 code help

Recommended Posts

ok i got a p1145 code that appears as soon as i turn on the key and when i searched the net i get that its a vtc sensor but i dont know what side. advance said that it is a mass air flow, so know i dont know what to think. if the p1145 is a vtc does someone know what side that is on driver or passenger. also does anyone know what i would have to do to check to see if the vtc sensor is bad or good

thanks

Your 2001 FSM says on Page EC-484 that it's the Left Side. I've quoted the page below. You can download your FSM HERE

intake valve timing control for appropriate target valve open-close

1145 is driver's side VTC/solenoid. 1140 is passenger side. I just went through this. If you replace the sensor and are still pulling the same code, you will need to clean or replace your cam solenoid.

Assuming this is a 3.5? Not sure if the VQ33 uses the same codes/sensors.

If it has the 3.5 its a 2001.5. Also if you look at the metal plate on the firewall where it has all the specs it will say in what month it was made, and it might also say that on the plate on the drivers side door jam but im not sure about that one.
