Alright so my engine blew in my unit... so i purchased another parts hardbody that is a USA unit but just for the engine. Turns out the USA truck is way better condition than my CAN unit.. Except the clutch... THe clutch goes right to the floor with no action what so ever.. i traced the line and turns out the plunger is right out of the slave cylindar. I was going to replace that but once i got deeper i notcied that the release lever that attaches to the release bearing inside the tranny is loose and flopping all over.. Seems like it let go inside the tranny. Kinda like the pin came off?? What can i do to rectify this? Anything i can do at home? Unfortuantly i dont have a garage so its time sensitive as winter is quickly approaching in canada.. any help would be awesome..

Not sure what you are saying?

If you have a parts truck and are swapping engines; you will be disassembling the unit right?

the clutch fork may have come loose, since it is a parts truck maybe that was why it was parted out?

You'll more than likely have to separate the engine and tranny to take a look which could be done easily during the swap.

Just giving you a basic direction as I'm not sure of the question.

I'm sure one of the more mechanically inclined people will chime in once you explain a bit better or take pics?

Good Luck.

I'll have to take some pictures.. Basiclly the clutch fork that goes into the tranny that is connected to the release bearing has somehow come off inside.. I can freely move the lever... Just to clear this up i'm trying to restore the USA unit instead of using it for parts... I do however have another unit for parts just in case i need something... I just wanted to know if there was anything i could do to fix this besides dropping the tranny and getting that involved. I do not have the space or ability to do that myself so if thats the case i'll take it to the shop and get them to do it..

if the fork has come unclipped from the bearing, theres simply not enough room to get it all back to gether without, at a very least sliding the trans back. even then its not going to be the easiest.

been there once or twice, finally got the tans and motor lined up & the trans input shaft to drop into the spigot bush then one of the clips slips off the fork.... grrrrr everything comes back out.....
