ok...so after the fact that earlier in the week the gasket between the y-pipe

and cat went and started a mini fire in cabin , today my brake lights are constantly engaged and

now when i go to engage cruise control the cruse light just flickers....im lost....this new pathy is bad news...

Check your brake and CC cancel switches above the brake pedal. You might have kicked them loose somehow.

Could be the fire damaged the switch internally or burned the insulation off one of the brake switch wires and its grounding out somewhere.

i had a short recently, with similar symptoms to yours, and i replaced my taillights, and it fixed it. food for thought.

ok, i checked out all the wiring n what not under the dash, its not melted nor is any of it disconnected....i changed the tail lights and still nothing...when the lights are not on i get no repsonse when touching the brake, thyre only on when the lights are on and they are the bright stop lights...im not very good with electical systems but if u want me to post pics of whats going on under there i will...
