I am making some progress on my 4wd conversion. This past weekend, I put new struts in, swaped out the spindles, added new ball joints, rebuilt the donor CV axles, added Warn hubs, and put the center section differential in place.

 

Next, I have to tear the 4WD transmission apart and see what I need to replace. The transmission had 131,000 miles on it and I am concerned about the internals because when I drained the fluid, it was a NICE mud brown. I can get a complete rebuild kit for $230 and I already have a TransGo kit ready to go in.

 

I could just take my 2WD transmission, swap the output shaft and rear housing and reattach the transfer case, but I need this car to last me through the next few years.

 

Can't wait to have a 4x4 again! :bounce:
