LD50
I want to access the panel between the windshield and hood, but can't figure out how to get the wipers off... is the spring holding them on or is there something else to remove?
unccpathfinder
pop the cover up...hit the 10 or 12mm bolt...then i usually use my nice snapon spark plug boot pulling tool and hook it around the bottom edge of the wiper and snatch bc they're hard to get off... to take the cowl cover off...remove the cowl vents and remove i think its like 6 screws and have the hood open and she should pop off...i dont think u have to remove the fenders
denisb
You don't have to take the fenders off. The vents are a little tricky to remove. Take a small flat screw driver and press donwn on the plastic clips(the middle part only) the middle of the clip will push down about an eith of an inch and the the clip can be pulled up. Oh and tapping the arm lightly with a hammer after the center bolt is removed is the best way I found to remove the arm from the shaft. LD50
So does the rivet need to be drilled out of the cover as well? Or perhaps I am misunderstanding Edit-- Went and checked it out, I get it now. Thanks guys Edited February 24, 2007 by LD50
denisb
Rivet?!?!?!? On Which cap? If you mean the wiper arm cap, it just slides off. Pull up and iy should come off. It looks like there's a pin that goes across it thru the arm, but it's the arm pin. The cap actually slides over the pin (optical illusion). LD50
Yeah, I didn't realize the cap pooped up like that, a few minutes in the cold and I figured it out pretty quick.
