Guest montana00
I work in an office where customers come in and out. My keys were on my desk and someone inadvertently walked out w/ them...So, anyway, I have no keys, that was my only set...the dealer said it was close to 200 bucks for a new key b/c apparently the keys are programmed. Is this true or are they trying to rip me off. I bought my Pathfinder about 4 mos ago and the dealer only had one set of keys. Can i not just have a locksmith come out and cut me a new key???? amazes me that a key is 200 bucks and now in addition to that cost i have to pay to have it towed from my office to the dealership...Someone please help a poor guy out. thanks
big_johnson
What year is your Pathfinder? I'm pretty positive the newer ones (maybe '00+) have a chip in the key that can only be replaced by the dealer. I'm not sure on the older ones (like my 97) though.
