i've been havin a little starting trouble, posted on it a few days ago.

now, i have another question for you guys.

(93pathfinder xe auto) had a problem with the starter, got that replaced, now it seems my stock security system has gone haywire on me. First of all, it will not let my car start, I've managed to find a way around this by installing a crude push button startr: ) .... tried it out today and it starts fine, drives ok. i'm just worried that starting the car like this is probally not the best thing to do... only doing it as a temporary fix.

what do you guys suggest i do? is there anyway to bypass the stock security system or "disarm" it? so my car can come back to life? with out me shocking the hell out of it? i know better than to attempt to tackle wiring problems with my mechanical experience, who would be the guy to take it to? mechanic, dealer, wiring specialist, shaman? i'm rather confounded at the moment, i've done searches to no avail on factory security systems, anyone had this problem with some insight? or words of comfort?

Have you checked the relay that cuts the juice to the starter? I would start there. Another option is unhooking the whole security system.

I can't help you any further as I don't have the security system on mine. Previous owner took it out.

Im sure a good vehicle electrician will be able to pull it out, without charging dealer prices.

Hope you get your problem solved.

I had a problem with my pathy not starting, replaced 3 burned out starters in 6 months!!! finally the only people who figured it out was Nissan, the alarm was drawing too many amps "somehow from the starter?" and so I told Nissan to just disconnect it. They did, and I haven't had 1 problem since. (when i would turn the key, it wouldnt do anything....sometimes took 15-20 tries at starting it, then would just go out)

The alarm is still there, just disconnected. Hope this helps. Actually didnt cost too much either, just a small labor charge.
