damn elect. speedo

so driving to ork the other day, i passed a cop and looked down to see my speed and there was nothing. the speedo doesnt work and also the trip and odom are working either. ive got a 94 xe with power options. i pulled the cluster apart tonight and founs out it is all elect. so my question is, is there a sensor or sumthing in the tranny to need to replace or should i run the codes or what?

Hmm, my 95 XE speedo doesn't work, but all else does. I just ignore it and drive... From what I have read, you need to get a new (used) speedo cluster, but I haven't torn it apart and looked either. Quite frankly, I really don't use it anyway...

yup head to a JY and grab a new instrument cluster, not too complicated.

ya neither do i. i just gage my speed when i see those nasty red and blue lights in my rear view mirror. ya not to worried about it, just wondering. thanks
