hey i'm from edmonton looking for nissans to come out and play
-
Took me about 6 hours to do mine and my 31's fit perfect now almost look to small lol
-
Where in the engine compartment is the noise coming from?
left side drivers side
-
Did you check your vacum motors? ie Egr valve might have a crack in it diafram, dash pot leaking, cruise control diafram, brake booster other vacum controlled devices?
I dono, just thought
HMMM i'll double check the brake booster. Cause we just replaced the engine and replaced every thing that needed to go on it
-
yuppers search is great. i'll stick to having the c.d. copy though laptop sits perfect on top of the engine

So my 92 XE about two weeks ago has been starting to whistle at me. The problem is at cold start up you can hear a very high pitched whistle coming from the engine compartment. Also when you are coming to a stop the RPM's will stay at around 1800 for a frew seconds once stoped then slowly go back to regular idle. I've checked all my hoses and can not find a leak anywhere. Any words from the wise may help me find the mystery whistle.????

I just put a 3" body lift in my 92 XE this weekend and had no problems with the shifters. Is there supposed to be a plate under the shift boot cause mine didn't have one.
-
I hope its not the MAF!
It is driveable, up through the gears, but if you are over geared-like rolling along 35mph in 4th-it kinda chugs along until the RPMs come up.
could this be my O2 sensor?
Change plugs/wires
or run this tank of fuel with the Marvel in it and start over?
The MAF is super easy to clean and worse case there dirt cheap to get a new one and about the fastest fix there is i carry a spare with us when we're wheeling just in case
-
so what year coils off the zj are good for the pathy's
-
I ran the ecu codes and got no codes
My truck runs great until it comes into temperature.
While this makes it sound like an o2 sensor, i unplugged it with no change.
also I recently dumped some Marvel Mystery Oil in the fuel tank-so could this be a cause of rough running after coming up to temp?
My 92 XE did that would run normal up until running temp. mind you i did take mine swimming but it was my mass airflow that was shot

mines always been the samsquanch finder lol

according to google:
21 US gallons = 79.4936475 liters
21 Imperial gallons = 95.4679295 liters
I'm pretty sure everyone is speaking in US gallons.
Maybe having such a low tank triggered a sensor. I know if you don't screw the gas cap on all the way it will come on.
sorry not all of us use US gallons everyday and even with that 21 US GALLONS is to much for them
-
21 gallons no that's over 90 ltr last time i filled from empty was around 65 ltr which is around 14 gallons
-
94's and 95's were the same. I just filled mine.
Gas idiot lite came on coming home from work. Drove about 14 miles (figure that was a gallon). Filled it (but did not top off the filler tube) and it took 18.3 gal.
my pathy has a mind of its own its a 92' XE and the wife found out the hard way. empty for me is the 1/4 tank line and full is way past the F and yeah my light doesn't work

Just a quick question. Are all timing belt kits for VG30E engines the same? I found a great price on Maxima V6 VG30E kit ($120) comes with timing belt water pump timing belt tensioner front crankshaft seal 2 front camshaft seals and 3 accessory drive belts, will this fit my Pathfinder? Any suggestions for Many many thanks. Avery
I use this site all the time for looking up parts makes it super easy specially cause there are pictures lol http://www.rockauto.com

K well i Just finished my first ever engine swap.... HAHAHAHA it was good fun pulled two out put one back in. Actually turned out to be not as bad as i thought nissan does make it pretty simple for comes off one way goes in one way. As for having to drop the diff never had to and it actually went pretty simple by the second truck same with the going back in. Once the the engine is seperated from the bell housing (i don't know if this will work on a auto). Remove engine mounts and tilt nose of engine down to open the rear of the engine at the top. Unbolt clutch from the fly wheel, push the clutch back from the fly wheel and the engine comes right out nice and clean. If done right takes maybe 10min to get the clutch off and you don't have to worry about damaging splines. same thing but in reverse when putting it back it saved me so much time. Was very impressed with the NGK iridium plugs first time i've ran them. Put performance wires, cap, rotor, Air filter, Dual maganaflow custom exhaust goes in this week running 3" pipe no cat's with bottles. Also we have been looking at modifying it to make the fairlady's turbos to mount give us some extra juice along with all the other fun things. Next is suspension going to go with the SAS seems more practical for in the long wrong. We're hoping all said and done engine will be pushing around 500 hp turning 35" tires

I have a 93 se pathfinder,Im thinking of replacing my engine,I seen on ebay where they have these vg30e engines for around $600-800,Has anyone purchased one of these engines or should I rebuild the one I have.Need some feed back.thanks
Depending on what's wrong with yours i would just rebuild your self or see if you can find one in the local scrap yard. I got my parts truck for 400 bucks and lucked out the engine was prime. I just finished my swap its not as bad as they make it out to be. The enginge i just took out is getting the TLC it needs though hahaha.

Will this be a problem?
no because it should be an output yoke

'95 Pathy 5spd, 3.0V6 4X4. 98k miles
Plus there is a lot of wear only on the top of the pin where it latches to close. The guy at the Dealership said something I didn't understand about adjusting the straps ? I thought it was time to replace the bushings in the door hinge pins...Am I on the right track ? Is this for sure a 2 guy job ?
My 92 XE drivers door was bad we had to drill out the bushings they were so seized up so if your going to i would suggest replacing the bushings and snap rings while your at it.

and Calmini makes a SAS kit...
what's the average cost after total install anyone know
-
K this has been pondering my mind for some time now and i'm 50/50 on the situation do i keep it IFS go as big as i can and enjoy it or do i do the sas. understandably the biggest i want to go for tires is a 35". I don't want to become a trail tractor just want to enjoy some of the technical and have some fun at the same time but still not be a tank on the road lol. Now from what i've been told is that the cv's can't handle going up to high and you go through boots like you go through socks but at the same time it's nice having that centre clearance. SAS on the other hand takes care of the cv problem just don''t know if it's the proper way to go with the pathy's. Let me know what you guys and girls think the more opions the better good or bad

my newest 94 xe is black with i tinny touch of rust. and my everyday 92 xe everyone thought was greyish until i washed it for the first time haha but it is acutally black with a lot of bush pinstriping.
alternator problem
in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders

It may not be your alternator that's the problem buddy had something similar happen to his and he replaced everything battery, alternator, etc. It actually landed up being a bad ground which cause the issues. He replaced his cables and worked wonders
