  1. Well, went by my local guys business this weekend and will be putting in an Alpine Stereo with CD and Ipod capabilities. He has the wiring adaptor that will allow the use of the steering wheel controls for $85.00. Not sure how much $$ will be invested for the installation and parts, but am looking forward to having a CD player again. There are no decent radio stations here in Alabama, so I need my CDs and Ipod. Thanks for all of your help...
  2. Thanks for the info from Cruchfield. I am also going to call a aquintence of mine who ones a car stereo shop that is local and see what he says. Thanks for the link too. My husband has already checked this out and it is an option for us... Really don't want to give up the 6 cd changer though...
  3. It does it in all of the cd's and with different ones. I noticed again last night when I was waiting on my husband to get back in the car and also when we got home. I even tried a new cd that I bought last night and it still skipped. Do you know of any after market ones that will allow me to use the controls on the steering wheel. I love not having to take my hands off the wheel to change the cd's or turn up the volumn. Thanks though...
  4. Okay, I'm back!!! Been scratching my head with this one. I have the factory Bose 6 disk in dash changer in my Pathy. About 3 weeks ago, I started noticing that the CD's were skipping. (I love my Christmas music, especially TSO, turned up really loud ) I checked the disk and there were no scratches on it and I cleaned the CD head with a cleaning disk. But it is still skipping. I don't want to change out the radio for an after market because I love having the controls on the Steering wheel. Any other suggestions out there? Do you know of any after market radios that will work with the steering wheel controls? Thanks, Amy from B'ham
  5. I've enjoyed working on my pathy and will keep in touch. Will try and send a picture up soon. I'm not that computer savvy but with help from the "old man" maybe I can send one up soon. Thanks again for all of your ideas. It made finding the problem less of a challenge... By the way, my pathy is only a 2 wheel drive but I will be finding out about the pulling power this weekend. Have to go down to the lake to pull the seadoo out of the water for the winter. Can't wait to see how it does...
  6. The mystery has been solved. The second remote that we have was the culprit... We took the battery out of that one and the windows/locking stopped immediately. Finally figured it out just this morning. My daughter, yes it was her afterall, put the 2nd remote back together and it started the process again. I scolded her very harshly this morning but did take the battery back out of the remote and it stopped. I hated yelling at my beautiful daughter this morning, but my concern was it was going to run the battery down in the truck. Thanks for all of your help too. By the way, we are now looking at another nissan to drive as well. Husband wants a Maxima now!!!
  7. Yes, mine does have the home link system but it hasn't been programmed to our garage door yet. I was going to try and do that this weekend. I will disconnect the battery in the car and also take out the battery in the remote that I use and see if it does it again. I hope not, because if it does, then it must be something electrical in the vehicle itself. Thanks for all of the good advice. Still love my Pathy though...
  8. Okay, it happened again last night. My husband and I both saw it happening. We had one keyfob that got dropped in a rain puddle but we took the battery out of it so it won't work. The 2nd one we have was a good 20 feet away from the car. I was wondering if it could maybe be the garage door opener... It has a rotating sequence. Or could it be a wiring problem? I am sitting here looking at the car right now. It has been parked since 8:20 this morning when I got to work and it hasn't done the mysterious thing. Could the cooler temperature make it do that too? I was talking with my husband this morning and suggested that we disconnect the battery for a little while and see if that might help as well. Any other thoughts???
  9. It only happens when the car is parked and and turned off. Other than that the windows work great. They squeak when you roll them down but that is because the track hasn't been oiled. I am planning on doing that this weekend...
  10. My daughter is old enough to know not to touch the keys... She asks us to start the car though... It wouldn't bother me so except this isn't the first time it has happened. It happened a couple of weeks ago but the PF was in the garage...
  11. Thanks for the Welcome! This is the first time I have ever gotten on a blog. This is way to much fun... Anyway, I locked the truck with the lock button in the vehicle. I don't like to use the key fob when I am at home. To may CATS in the neighborhood that like to walk all over cars at night. I usually park in the garage so I don't lock it when it is in there...
  12. Good morning. I have a 2002 Pathfinder that my husband and I bought from a family in Tennessee after my truck was totaled in an accident. I have had it since June and love it. My husband is a big Nissan supporter and now that I have driven one for a while, I have crossed over to the Nissan world... Here is the issues that my PF is having. Last night, I rolled up the power windows and locked the door for the night. (had to park outside since husband was cleaning out garage, YUCK!!!) Anyway, when I came out this morning to take my daughter to school, both front windows were down, but the doors were still locked. This really wasn't a concern at my house. But unfortunately I work in the downtown area and don't like the idea of my windows just rolling down for now reason. Any ideas?
