That is what I was thinking. I have no idea how long they have been torn, i just noticed it as i was changing the oil the other day. I figure with the warn hubs, the parts store ones should be fine since they will now see minimal use.

Any idea on how to know if it is worth trying to save the shaft? Is there play to measure, do they clunk etc? Again thanks for the help

Thanks for the help. I hope to get going on this sunday afternoon.

Ok, so I am getting ready to take the front end of my 01 apart. I have the warn hubs to put on, and while it is apart it is getting brakes and cv shafts. I have one torn boot and the truck has 130k on it so I am going to through a new set on. I have two questions that I could not quickly find the answer to 1. how do the shafts come out? after you take apart the hub assembly do they just pull out? (Obviously I havn't started yet) 2. With the warn hubs, can I get away with parts store shafts, or should I buck up and get the nissan units? 4x4 is only going to be used for snow Thanks for the help

Thanks for the in put, I am thinking that unless I go with some other rims then I will cool it at either the 245/75's or the 255'70's. -

Your truck looks good. Did you have trouble with the 265's on your stock rims? Or did you just decide to get new wheels? -

Mine was the 1/2 kit and it definitely gave more than a 1/2 inch lift. It is the medium duty kit and I got it from Steve over at http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/. Nice honest guy that will take care of you. I haven't measured my lift but I would guess it is in the 1 to 2 inch range. -

Yeah, I see that now, I was at work at the time just thought that I had seen this in jegs the other day and it clicked. But wrong bolt pattern. -

Here is mine, still stock. Just waiting for a little more time. Needs wheels and tires. This is one of the reasons I really liked the idea of the 245/75/16's. UMM I know where I could find a set laying around... But back on track, Unless I can put 15's on it it would just make more sense to run the factory wheels. Either the 255 or 265's -

http://www.jegs.com/i/Cragar/260/3975864PK/10002/-1 I wonder if these would work? Seems like a pretty good deal , but the back spacing is 4 1/4. Does anyone know the stock back spacing? I wonder if this is close enough to 4" Is this our bolt pattern? -

I have the big one . 2500 HD 8lug D max. So it is no go on the wheels. But I did not know they take the same bolt pattern as the 6 lugers? If that is the case this could change everything. Jegs has 31x10.5 x15 wheel sets with tires mounted for around $800. Could that be the ticket? -

Sorry I was out of town for the weekend so I didn't check anything. But I do think those 255 on your pathy look about right. I had not thought about the 10 ply thing. I have a 2500HD duramax with 245's on it and I had thought about convincing the wife that it needed to the new tires and the pathfinder should get those. But I don't think she will appreciate the ride. I think I will go with the 255/70/16 -

I am trying to get this done on the cheap and easy. I like the 245/75/16 idea because the tires a cheap for that size. (That is the stock size for 2500 chevy's) but if the 255/70 looks better then I would go with that one. Do you have a picture of the 245's on you truck? -

Did you have to space you wheels with this set up. From the online calculator it looks like that is just below a 31 or so. I think from what I have been reading that seems like it is about the limit without different wheels. -
Thanks for the help, I went with the OME's Ordered them from Steve 5 minutes ago.

Hey thanks, for the help, where did you get your OME stuff from?

I am new here and have read a ton on lifting my 01 pathfinder and have decided against it. I don't want to mess with the increased CV wear or topping out issues. The problem is I have a cracked front spring and I cannot find stock replacement springs anywhere but Nissan. Do you guys have any ideas? Nissan wants 200 per spring, I think that is a bit steep for a pair of stock springs. Thanks for the help, and if there is a thread that talks about this I must have missed it. Thanks for the help and advice and the great website
