About Me

I am originally from Roanoke, Va. Four wheeling back home was a fullsize Chevy or Ford, A sweet little woman, some beer and a mudhole. During my first year in Whatcom county some friends invited me to the then open North Fork Trail area on Slide mountain. I instantly fell in love with climbing over boulders, Barely squeezing through tree's, 25 ft vertical drops and changing birfields ( I was a Yota guy back then.) in the snow. I started a local club here called The Duct Tape Mafia. It fits us well. I got into Nissans when my Yota failed to get me home for 3 days after descending a trail properly named "Indo". They had logged below the ridge it drops down from and we found ourselves down in a hole with all of the usual exit trails blocked with baketball court size piles of limbs that stood 30' high or so. The entrance was impassible backwards so we crashed for the night. Long story short, my wife at the time came looking for us in our bone stock beautiful Nissan Pathfinder. She found us standing by the road (We had walked out.) hungry, thirsty, tired and in need of about $1000 dollars in Yota parts from getting pissed of and trying to beat our way out. So i climbed in the drivers seat of our pathy and started of a trail. The gearing was great, low range was better than the Toy's for sure. As we are headed thrugh the woods to get closer to the trucks I look over at her and told her how nice the Pathy felt on the trail. She stopped me dead in my tracks and said that i better not even think about it. Well needless to say the Nissan became what i pictured it to be, the wife is long gone and my Pathy and I are a happy couple. I wheeled her stock with the 4.37 gears, a 3" body lift from AZ and some crap tires from craigslist from craigslist. Later i added 4.63 gears and a limed slip disc brake rear from an automatic. I also put in some jgc springs and cut the sway bars off. Anyway thats how it all started. Here is my build page link. It shows from the day i took it from my wife to when i left off with the build during the Divorce. http://www.cardomain.com/id/tankyota It has been hid in the woods out in Everson as my wife naturally wanted "her half" of it. Needless to say some of the Mafia got together and we snuck up to the house around midnight. We pushed it out of the driveway and down the road a ways onto the waiting flatbed. Strapped her down and away she went. I just got my own home and shop so My Pathy and I are back on like normal.
