Seriously old post wandered back onto this forum. Never figured out the problem, ruined my faith in Nissans sold the truck a few months ago as is. Back into the Honda scene with a 97' Accord.

Okay so I noticed this happening for awhile now. When I drive over 45mph the odometer/trip meter will eventually stop turning completly. Once the truck is off for awhile usually over night it will start working again. Once over about 45 it will stop working again. It is really a weird problem becasue I have gotten it to start working before by shifting into 4wd. My check engine light is on due to no overdrive. I still haven't been able to figure out that problem. I am hoping that the odometer problem could have something to do with this. I know that everything is electrical for my dash so I am wondering what I should check first. The speedometer and tach have always worked fine so can I rule out the speed sensor?? The only code that comes up is incorrect 4th gear ratio, due to overdrive not working. This problem is driving me nuts I can't figure it out. Somebody help me out!

Still can't get this damn thing to go in right. Can somebody please tell me the steps of getting the cover back in properly??

Wow, your real lucky. I had a 96 prelude with an aftermarket intake in the wheel well, went through some water, engine died. Ended up blowing a piston right through the block....learned my lesson the hard way

Recently replaced the shift solenoids in my tranny and it still isn't shifting into OD. The solenoid was bad so I thought that I had the problem. The truck was sitting for about a week, I took it on the highway and it shifted into OD fine until it warmed up then nothing again. Local tranny shop told me to try replacing the temp. sensor in the tranny. Im puttin it in this weekend. Got my fingers crossed hoping that this may be the problem. I'll keep it posted on the results incase someone ever has this problem....

Yeah I took the cover off completly its pretty simple. I am not sure how to get it to fit in just right. I had it back in and it only pushes back about 3/4 of the way. I see that there are 2 metal like tabs at the end of the cover...how do they go back into the track? Does the sunroof have to be opened or closed to put it back in?

Has anybody ever had there sunroof cover come off the track? I got it to close but it isnt on the track properly. I think that one of the clips may have broken....The owners manual has nothing on this and it is hard to get my head up through the sunroof to inspect. Anyone have any ideas or pics?

Sweet no help,oh well... bringin it to Nissan tmrw. Maybe this is a new problem, i'll keep it posted it anyone is interested.

Hmm aparently nobody has any idea why this may be happening.. Does anybody know if there are any fuses that are in correspondance with the tranny that could be blown?

Has anyone ever had this code show up or one similar in that the other gears were out of ratio? If so what did you do?? I am desperate...

The code is P0734 which is, Gear 4 incorrect Ratio.

Hey guys I am new to this site. I recently purchased a 4x4 1996 R50 Pathy. I am having serious problems with my tranny. My CEL is up and it is faulted due to an, incorrect 4th gear ratio. I have searched everywhere and have tried almost everything with no luck. I have checked the MAF and TPS, they are both good. I took the pan off the tranny and found that the solenoid pack was bad in the tranny. I put a new filter in and still have no luck. It seems as though the truck is shifting right on 1-3 but it wont shift into 4th. At around 45mph my RPMS are at 2700 and on occasion will drop to about 2400, then once I reach 50-55mph my RPMS are up to about 3200. I know that my 4th gear is not bad because before I started working on the truck(before new fluids) I could sometimes get it to shift and it would run great. Please help me out, I am really gettting frustrated with this car. I was really excited to get this pathy and it seems as though it is turning into another used car nightmare!!
