I have found out the problem with the engine running bad off idle and it is in the pump itself under the top cover is some electronic qizmos that give up the ghost at around 180+ klicks. The R50 TD27 and the QD32 are almost the same engine except for size and both have the same model of pump and both cause problems. The fix isnt cheap with quotes from $1500 to $3000. The pump has to come of then be pulled down and inspected to see if the tolerences are within spec if not then a new housing and other parts are needed that is why a fixed price cant be given till it is pulled apart. Great Nissan engines with crappy Zexel pumps on them. The ZD30 isnt any better as they get pump problems too. When you purchase a vechile get a 5year mechanical waranty and its someone elses problem.

Hi there My Pathfiner/terrano is having problems running. Most of the problem is actually starting up either hot or cold. The regular things have been checked glow plugs fuel filters and the like. I have got i diagnosed by the nissan dealer in my town with it comming back a diesel injector pump problem the codes are F/INJ F/B 2fuel injector. I have taken it to a reputible diesel mechanic who looked at it and said that there is a problem with 12V getting to the fuel cut off solenoid. He has refered me to a good auto electrician to check. I have done some research and one things i need to check is the crank angle sensor where is this located on the engine.
