  1. Hello, we changed out the headers, the cross pipe, and the cat. I had previously put on a flowmaster 2 -1 muffler. Any ideas??
  2. Hello, I have read all of the other header / emissions topics, and have been unable to find an answer. here's my problem: About 6 mos ago, I had grown tired of the manifold leak and decided to have it fixed. There were three broken manifold bolts, and it was decided that the motor had to be pulled in order to get the bolts drilled out and replaced. So, long story short, we put the pacesetter headers on, with a new high flow cat converter and have had nothing but problems since. First, the engine was throwing an EGR code, so we replaced the EGR valve and the problem was fixed. Still, there was a very bad hesitation problem, and the engine began throwing an o2 code. So, after replacing three o2 sensors, the engine is not throwing a code, but the hesitation still remains. If I unplug the o2 sensor, the hesitation goes away, so I have to run it with no o2 sensor. And, the engine light DOES NOT come on when the sensor is unplugged??!! Could it be the ECU? Most recently, I took it down to emissions test, and it failed miserably in both categories. I tried testing both WITh the sensor plugged in and WITHOUT the sensor plugged in. No luck. Any suggestions?? I NEVER had these problems before, and I'm wondering what the h_ll has happened. PLEASE HELP! I can't tell you how this is driving me crazy. Thanks, Craig
  3. Try unplugging the throttle position sensor. When mine did that, I unplugged it and it immediately ran fine, telling me the sensor had gone bad. I replaced it and everything has been fine since. Craig
  4. Hello, I am new to these forums, and I am quite pleased to find them! I have just had some work done to my 1995 4X4 Pathfinder, which included some transmission work, as well as some exhaust manifold work. After puttin up with the dreaded "tick" for almost 2 years, I finally decided it was time to end the frustration. My beloved Pathfinder had 3 broken manifold studs, so out came the engine and we finally got the broken bolts / studs drilled out. Since I had gone to that trouble, I decided to put headers on it as opposed to the stock manifold. I didn't have a whole lot of time to do research, so I got what I could find here quickly, which were the black (painted) pacesetter headers. Now, after reading here, I think I would have been better served to go with some of the others, but it is already done. However, There seems to be an issue finding an oil filter that will work. There is not enough clearance for the standard oil filter because of the headers, so is there a different filter people use for this particular application? Please let me know, and I apologize if this has been discussed before. I looked around, couldn't find anything. Thanks for your help, Craig
