New tires and an alignment make Pathfinder a happy 4x4!!!

Yes....I agree! My son 92Path_68CJ is making fun of me now! I was fearless in my last Pathfinder and would not hesitate to try almost anything. I like this one so much, I am much more careful with it!!! lol Take care!!!

Hi again!! The Pathfinder they started with, had a lot of options including the rear disc brakes! I've owned 2 SEs before this one, and neither had as many options....including the factory 3 cd player and alarm. They replaced the rotors with drilled rotors, installed different pads, and replaced the rubber brake lines with braided steel lines. Needless to say, it stops very well...I haven't pulled a trailer with it yet, but with all of the torque it has, I am sure it will have no problem. I heard from the MotoIQ employee I bought the rig from that the only reason that they replaced it was internal space. They now have a Tahoe that provided more room inside.... Hope that helps! John

When I had my SE at stock height (although the suspension was a little worn at that point), the biggest size that I could go with is 31x10.50 without having rubbing. I did have to trim the plastic fender flares a bit with a Dremel, but not a significant amount. Having said that, my 1993 with suspension upgrades (documented at MotoIQ's website under Project Pathfinder), I am running 275x70 16 tires on the larger rims just fine. But my 1993 SE sits maybe a couple inches higher than my original 1992 SE with Lego wheels..... Hope that helps!! Boothill2008

Hi TutorN1, I bought Project Pathfinder from someone else at MotoIQ, and what I can tell you is that it is not a race motor...but it now has the power and torque that really maximized the Pathfinder's potential. In addition, the steering and suspension upgrades described in the build make it a dream to drive. I highly recommend that you take the time to go through the project link that Nefarious provided, you wont regret it!! :happy: :happy: Boothill2008

Not yet, gv280z, but I know it will be in the cards at some point in the near future (my son Nick is dying to know!). I can say this, it is amazing to drive going uphill on the street, I can just imagine what it's going to be like off road!! Nick may take it out this weekend, unfortunately, I have to wait another month or so because of a recent surgery ....

Believe me, I feel blessed....and I am grateful that my son (above) talked me into driving over to look at it, it was love at first sight!!

I admit it, I'm addicted to Pathfinders! lol, this is my 3rd, and it is the coolest!!!

I am glad to say that I am once again a Pathfinder owner!! After driving many miles to look at less than perfect Pathfinders, my son talked me into looking at the former MotoIQ Project Pathfinder (1993 SE) that was for sale when we were near Santa Monica, and it now proudly sits in my space at my condo complex! I will post pictures when I get a chance, this is my 3rd Pathfinder, so I guess the 3rd time is a charm!!!

I add a couple of 2" x 8" x 36" planks to wedge under the tires in the snow or sand for traction when stuck, and a couple of short 4" x 4" pieces that I have used with my barrel jack when I have been hung up on the frame.....

My pathy came stock with 31s, no worrys......

'Preciate your feedback, never had one myself....so no skin off my nose. Some other Pathy owners told me about the Manik guard.

Hi, I live in So Cal as well in Ontario, you might try a company called Manik 4X4 in Asuza, California. Checking around, I have seen the front brush guard combo go for around $400 and under, and it is specifically made for the WD21 Pathfinder. It directly bolts to the front and will protect your bumper. A lot of the off road accessory sites carry Manik products. Since your local, you might try 4 wheelin' out of Fawnskin, CA (Next to the City of Big Bear Lake), there is some fun mountain stuff in the pine trees out by Holcomb Valley (Trail 3N16 to 3N54 that leads to a lookout point off the trail that looks down to the Lucerne Valley, good place to have lunch), after that, you can head back out to the 18 to Cactus Flats, which is right off of Highway 18. It is a medium difficulty trail that goes down into the Lucerne Valley (some black diamond stuff off the main trail occasionally), you can then follow trailmarker 3N03 which eventually will become 2N02, and then in the area of the Red Rose Mine, there is a turnoff onto 2N01 which leads you back to Highway 38. The whole excursion is good for about 6 to 8 hours total, going from the mountains to the desert, then back home. I would pick up a map of the area at your local REI, Sport Chalet, or the like.
