  1. The new style exhaust manifolds wont work with the old style motor mounts. The exhaust studs are different sizes so the ones off the old engine will not work. Hoping to get the exterior cage and exhaust done tomorrow. Its got a 3" body and 3" Calmini suspension lift with 33" tires and .75" off the front wheel wells all the way around. Gonna run true duel custom exhaust with with no cats and O2 simulators because I am going to be swapping the pulley on the supercharger. I thought the hood fit because it shuts nice and easy but I put some chalk on it and it apparently does touch. So, I am going to have to do some cutting. I will try to get some pictures up tomorrow. Its gonna be wild!
  2. I just used all the accessories off the new engine. Made my 88 powersteering line fit. Only, need one new line for the a/c to convert. Alternator uses same connector. I got the engine with the wiring harness and computer already installed. Use the old exhaust manifolds. There is just 5 wires to supply 12v to, and a few wires to ground and you are in business. Also just use the radiator hoses off the engine year vehicle. Swap motor mounts. Its actually really really easy now that I figured it out. If you also run the transmission thats the same year as the transmission you can use computer diagnostics on it.
  3. All bolted up. It turns over. Its got spark. Injectors are powered up. Waiting on new ecm and exhaust then I will be posting videos!!!
  4. Its installed. It turns over. I have spark. Injectors are powered up. Waiting on new computer, then exhaust, and she is ready to rock!<a href="http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l5/travelcarpenter/?action=view&current=wakeboard052.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l5/travelcarpenter/wakeboard052.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
  5. So the engine is bolted up. The newer drivers side exhaust manifold has to be swapped out with the old one. The new power steering pump and alternator us the same connections so that was easy. I am going to have to modify the hood because the supercharger sits up a little higher than I thought. I will keep you guys posted. Hopefully pictures soon.
  6. I am with you 100%! There are 5 or six of us with similar equipped offroad vehicles and we have 300 acres at our disposal! We drink, off road, and stay the night!!! There is nothing more fun to me!
  7. I am stuck workin in Canada till mid-October. I will take some more pictures when I get back. Mine is just welded to the frame. They are make a full cage around it while keeping everything functional. Did you build a rear bumper too?
  8. You will have to see pictures of it now. Did you make yours? Is your just welded to the frame?
  9. This is a really old pic. The three 9" lights are in that opening. The bumper is not done in this picture. This is before the suspension lift also. Give me a couple months and you will see some serious changes!
  10. So I went ahead and got the engine and harness. I won't be able to start until late October though. I have done major powertrain conversions before so I am hoping this won't take too long. You guys should like the customizing I have already done. I have 3" body, 3" suspension, powertrax locker, 3 hid 9" lights, with custom front and rear bumpers. A 3.3 s/c will finish it off nicely. I will keep you posted and if I figure out how to upload pictures I can show you some progress.
  11. I have an 88 2 door pathfinder that has the v6 5 speed in it now. It has 247k on it with a blown head gasket now. I have the opportunity to get a 3.3 s/c motor, auto transmission, and transfer case with only 66k on it for next to nothing. It has the computer and all electrical accessories with it. How much work am I getting into by putting this in the pathfinder or will it even work?
  12. Hey, I ended up stumbling across an 88 2 door that I got for $1000. It has the v6 with the 5 speed. It is bone stock right now, but I am having a custom front bumper/light bar, roof rack, and rear bumper being made. I want to run 33" tires with plenty of clearance. Also I want to put a newer nissan motor in it. Considering 3.3 s/c. I have honestly spent most of my time on street cars performing challenging mods. But, since I no longer have a drivers license I needed something my girlfriend could trailer to a place that I could go have some fun! I am looking forward to having some serious fun!
