  1. A coworker of mine was pissed at our boss and spraypainted her headlights black. She lives in a rural area with no street lights. She had to pull over and scrape it off with a screwdriver. About a week later he put superglue in all her doorlocks, and her gastank lid. He eventually quit and she still does'nt know who did it.
  2. I'm gonna have to see if i can scrape together 700$ because i've read the writeups and i know i would screw it up. Also most of my tools were stolen.
  3. I bought a 92 pathy 4x4 yesterday and the guy i bought it from is the original owner. He stated he has never replaced the timing belt or any other major componant of the engine. It has 250,000 miles on it. I've never done anything more than bolton parts and tuneups. The repairshop wants $700 for timing belt/waterpump replacement. Is it bad to wait a couple months before replacing the timing belt?
  4. Thanks, i am gonna install one. Gonna get the club too. I know they can just cut the steering wheel but i'm hoping it will at least deter the joyriders. Gonna get an alarm too, can't hurt.
  5. Last month I posted on here about my 88 Pathy. It got stolen 1 week after i bought it. The police still have not found it. For the past week i've been looking for a new suv to replace it. Oddly enough the best suv i found for my limited budget was a 92 Pathy 4x4. So i bought it and all the research i did for the 88 was still worthwhile it seems. This one is in alot better shape and i bought it from the original owner. He was able to tell me everything that was ever done to it. I was told older Pathys are easy to break into so i'm planning on adding some security features right away. This forum is great and i appreciate all the info you guys have put together.
  6. My pathfinder got stolen today. I had it a whole week. I had bought new tires, bunch of tuneup parts, etc.. and spent the whole week working on it. It makes me sick. From now on i'll make sure i have something like the club or a killswitch installed.

  8. The guy was not much help. All they do is oil changes and smog. He did say when i bring it back he can pretest it to make sure it passes before i pay again. During the test there was an idle rpm test. The range maxed at 1250 rpm, mine was idling at 1080 or so but would jump over 1250 every so often. The other test i failed i believe is the tailpipe emissions being over 220 parts per million.
  9. Heres a pic of the test results. Is a new cat expensive? Is it hard to replace? Thanx for your help!
  10. Hey, I've been reading this board all week and it's an awesome source of info. I bought an 88 Pathy 4x4. It failed smog test today(las vegas). I read a few posts on here about it but theres so many things it could be it seems. I'm a novice with very limited cash atm. It failed idle speed co and idle speed hc. I replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor and oil changed. Also my speedometer is off by 10mph and the trip doesnt work at all, any ideas how to fix that?
