  1. 1990 Pathfinder

Calmini 3" coils and drop bracket

Possibly some spring pads for a little extra cushion/lift

    No swaybar

Should I run 99116 shocks(1.5-3" lifts) or should I run the longer 99112(4"-6" lifts)?

    Thanks.

  2. if you look under "how to's" i posted a "how to install a grant wheel"..... :crossedwires:

GG has one too and a few others

and, in case you don't read the whole write up.... here's a bit you'll want to know

BTW: GRANT adapter kit # 3560 I paid $10 for mine @ Autozone. *NOTE! The kit from Grant does NOT include the 2" spacer (ribbed rubber lookin thingy) shown in my assembly (I already had it).. you can get those anywhere (i.e:Summit/Autozone/Kragen) for around another $10, but check junk yards first..that is a universal part.

Torque specs: Shoulder bolts: 10-12 ft/lbs Steering shaft nut 25-30 ft/lbs (very important NOT to overtighten these bolts/nuts)

Yeah I have a 2" spacer already as well. Just ordered the spline adapter kit from Summit. Should have it installed this weekend. :crossedwires:

  3. they're awesome, but a tad hard to handle off road..... wouldn't change mine fer nuthin tho king has a stock wheel. mini has the grant.

Yep, Grant GT is what I have, cool. Ill just order up the Nissan adapter then. Thanks.

  4. boooooo...way too popular in MD, Evo's are much rarer...besides, do u really like the way that boxer sounds?

I am in SoCal. No such thing as a "rare" import here, other than an R34, only seen a few of those.

I have always liked how the Imprezas handle, even back to the 2.5 RS(96-2001). The Mitsus 4G63 blows ass.

The first three on THIS page will fit perfectly. I just put on the 4-4.5" springs and had to cut one of the crossmembers because the driveshaft was rubbing it. I also had to weld on a drop bracket for the panhard rod.

How much rear lift did that give you?

  6. I could have just posted this as reply on another thread, but I was afraid I wouldn't get as much attention that way. I found out the other day that my outer tie rods are shot and it's causing a side to side sway/wobble/shimmy and the whole truck wonders about on the freeway and even some in the city at low speeds. Since money is pretty tight, Christmas coming and all, I won't bother to replace for a while.

My question is, what sort of hazards, if any, am I taking by delaying the repair. Will this cause premature wear on other suspension or steering bits? Will it get to the point where the truck is just be too unstable to drive? I'll probably drive approx 2000miles between now and the time I can repair it.

    Appreciate any response.

Worst case is they break and you lose steering. I wouldnt wait to fix.

  7. they way my alignment guy showed me was, he had me stand back by the drivers side rear wheel while he hopped in and gave it some gas while one foot was on the brake and he said "watch that rear axle now..." and sure enough I could see that side just jerking back and forth while the vehicle remained still for the most part..... I said "yep thats pretty obvious!" the passenger side bushings still seemed good but I went ahead and replaced those ones also. Now the rear end is square and I dont miss that annoying klunking around one bit. Mine typically did it when just taking off from a dead stop....first gear and sometimes second....and I could feel the rear end wiggling around making the vehicle ride like it was drunk. If I kept pumping the gas back and forth I could make the pathy wobble down the road....looking quite silly of course :)

I wonder if this is the cause of my transmission moving back and forth under acceleration/deceleration. I checked the motor mounts and trans mount and everything seemed peachy. Maybe my rear link bushings are bad. And I also get a nasty clunk from the rear once in a awhile as well. Maybe I found the cause of both problems. :)

  8. I need to remove my rear links from the suspension to take some measurements. Whats the easiest way of doing this? Is it as simple as jacking up the rear axle housing a bit and just unbolting the links?

Also, anyone happen to know the torque for the link bolts(frame side and axle side)?

    Thanks.

  9. Hi Josh and all,

Got home from the turkey day holiday to find my cool decals in my mailbox....thanks!!!!!! unfortunatly its raining like hell outside so I can't put them on just yet :(

    thanks again.... Chris

Word, got mine as well. Put them on the next day. :)

  10. Where can you get just the arms? All I can find are complete kits for the hardbody. And they are just 1.5-2" lifts, so I guess the extra lift is from tweeking the torsion bars?
