    Chainsaw Help?

Just swapped in the new plug and it started up beautifully. Thanks for the help guys.
  2. I don't wear caps, but I do like those. I agree with fleurys, however, that I'd like a shirt that had a small logo on the breast/sleeve and nothing else. I too prefer a more subtle look.

    Chainsaw Help?

Nope, it never had fluids in it until today. It doesn't try to turn over. Would it be worth adjusting the carb before it shows some signs of trying to start? I had thought about the but the manual says something like 'the carburetor has been pre-adjusted by the factory' so I didn't try, although it wouldn't be the first time something came out of the factory less than perfect. I pulled off the plastic cover and everything looked shiny and new underneath. The primer bulb filled up nicely so I think the fuel lines are ok. I didn't see any shipping type thing that would stop it from starting and the manual didn't mention anything. It's a Poulan Wood Shark 1950. Sounds like my best bet is to pick up a new plug and see if that does the trick.

    Chainsaw Help?

Having problems with a chainsaw and was wondering if anyone could help, as I know nothing about them. The chainsaw is, I believe, ten years old. It has never been run. The history, as I know it, is that someone bought it and left it sitting in their garage for years, then had a garage sale, where my brother bought it. Then it sat in our garage for years, unused, and now it has passed to me. I followed the tips my brother gave me for the first use (more oil in the mix and checking the chain tension), but it won't start at all. I looked up the manual online and have followed the starting instructions to the letter without luck. I was going to replace the spark plug but wanted to see if there was any troubleshooting I should do first to check for other possibilities. Thanks for any help.
  5. I hate to say it, but can you please change the title to 'dead' instead of deat? I know it's sad that it should, but it's really been bugging me all day.
  6. I'll add another vote for an older Ford F-Series. You can get them in good shape for super cheap, there's lots of aftermarket support, and you will never, ever have trouble finding parts when something breaks. As for off-road, my brother used to have an F250 diesel that he wheeled a huge amount. It definitely did pretty well, but it had its problems. The size and weight made it somewhat cumbersome, but that's a problem any full-size truck has. I certainly wouldn't recommend it as a primary off-road vehicle, but it would work for occasional wheeling.
  7. Man, apparently I've really missed something. I have no idea what is going on with this swine flu or what it's doing or anything. Yesterday I got an email from my college with about the same tips that Ramon posted and I had no clue what it was going on about. Edit: Did some limited research. It sounds like Precise said; people working themselves up into an irrational fear. If you're in a high risk group, you should probably be following all of the safety tips anyways. If you aren't, you shouldn't be preoccupied with it. It might be a nasty flu, but there's always something to be afraid of, medical or otherwise. If you get overly worked up about all those dangers, you'll just spend your entire life in fear of something that will most likely never affect you.
  8. This is a good tip. I managed to still make a decent mess since I'm a messy person, but doing this definitely reduced it.
  9. Welcome to the forums! I'm afraid if I start rattling things off I'll get something wrong, but if you do a search you should be able to find the answers pretty quickly. Btw, you should make an introduction post here.
  10. Lol, that sounds like my younger brother and his friend. They buy cheap ass cars/trucks, get 'em running, thrash 'em on and off road til they're dead, then part them out for more than they paid.
  11. I don't have a lift so I can't tell you exactly, but my stock length shocks (bought new shocks without thinking about flex, still kicking myself for it) limit my flex with just the rear swaybar removed, so I'd imagine they'd definitely limit lifted flex.
  12. I thought it was only WD21s and maybe QX4s. Never heard of a standard r50 with it before. Maybe it was a short-term, limited option?
  13. Rarely. I'd love to take my dog with my more often, but he's about as neurotic as a dog can be. One of the many things he's afraid of is riding in a car. When I do bring him with me, he sort of enjoys it, but he spends the entire time laying on the floor shaking.
  14. It's a classic; you won't regret reading it.
  15. Man Fukinitupagain.. I've been listening to music today which I don't normally do while browsing, and I swear that girl is in tune with every song that's come up.
  16. I won't speak for the others, but personally it was the attitude more than the question. People ask questions here about road performance every day and get prompt, polite answers. They just don't preface it with "your site is normally @!*%."
  17. I don't know; I think he had a bit of gentle ribbing coming after saying this site had almost no useful information. Long as it doesn't get mean, fair game imo.

    33's with 3bl

If you don't do much off-roading, why not just stick with some good 31s? Some people here (Pezzy for instance, although she has a lot of other mods) do even hardcore off-roading with 31s, so for lighter stuff you'd have no problems. I've been rocking half tread or lower 31s since I got my Pathfinder, and while I don't do anything hardcore (some pretty good stuff, though), I've never been in a situation where I was wishing for bigger tires. If it's for looks then that's one thing, but if you're just looking for performance, buy some good 31x10.50 MTs imo.
  19. I think I know why you have trouble finding information here that is helpful to you.
