  1. Thanks all, turned out to be a simple fix- the hose had just pulled off the barb on the drivers side of the radiator. I reseated it and move the spring clip to where the hose wasn't indented from it. Thanks also for the tip on fill-run-fill-run. It took quite a few times of letting the fluid work through before the dipstick continued to read full. I think that when I backed up in the deep snow, the plastic under guard scooped up a bunch of snow and ice and pushed the hose sideways until it popped off. A good thing to keep in mind for the future- it would have been worth it to dig the snow out.
  2. Hey all, my 97 auto 4x4 got stuck in a heavy snow storm (west of Denver) and I think I broke or disconnected the transmission line. Red fluid all over the snow on the drivers side, it won't go into gear and the O/D light was on. Pushed it back out of the street and wanted to get an idea of what to look at? From a quick read, it looks like the ATF cooler is on the drivers side? From the looks of the snow, there is no fluid left in the truck. I'm not very good with diagnosing problems but if they aren't too major I can usually follow instructions and fix things. Any help appreciated- thanks
  3. Hey all- I'm putting together some new struts for my 97 R50 with OME HD coils and KYB struts. At this point I think I have all the parts except 54034+A Or shown on this one as 54034N and 54034NA which appear to be spring insulators? I do have 54034 (without the N NA or +A) which is a rubber seat that goes up inside the Seat (54036). I found these insulators here- https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-seal-rubber-fro~54034-0w010.html But a bit ouch at another $80. A few questions then, what is the top one and does it need both one insulator on the spring, and another inside seat? And for the bottom one, my current struts don't have any rubber on the bottom like that, is this necessary? And/or is there are 3rd party or universal one that would work? Worse case I'll just bite the bullet...just thought I would check because on other threads I didn't see any mention of people ordering these parts. Thanks!
  4. The plow I have actually has a factory mount, it replaces the tow-hooks in the front on that part of the frame- if you look there, the pathy is kindof a hybrid frame (they call it a ladder I think), like a 4runner etc. So it does have *real* frame rails up at the front. I really do go pretty easy on it (7ft plow) and I'm going to put a poly cutting edge on this winter as well which slides over bumps even more easily. And yeah, I know it will stand tall up front with the heavy-duty springs and no plow. I don't drive a ton in the summer, do you think it would be a big problem? What downside would you expect if it was ~1" higher in the front? I could also replace the rear shocks/coils with something that adds a lift back there too eventually... Thanks for the feedback! Any thoughts appreciated, I haven't messed with any sorts of lifts much so any input there helps.
  5. Hey all, I recently got a 97 pathfinder and I plan to put my DK2 plow on it- I only backdrag my gravel driveway and have a 17 space commercial property in Denver and generally do it in stages before too much snow build up, so I go pretty easy on it (I know many will suggest a solid axle truck, but I really do go easy on it). Anyway, it needs new struts in the front and wanted to see if you all had any recommendations other than stock parts? It seems KYB is popular here, is any model there more durable that others? Also, would heavy load front coils be a good idea- https://www.4x4parts.com/i-18981313-pathfinder-heavy-duty-front-coils.html I'm not really looking for any lift, or planning any lift on the rear, would it still drive OK with the plow removed in the summer? Thanks!
