    New Engine?

Awesome information. I appreciate it. What would I need to swap?

    New Engine?

Hey yall, my buddy and I have been working on my Pathy. She is a 1991 Pathfinder V6 3.0L 5 speed 4x4. She's been bogging and sluggish. Well, we found out that Cylinder one had about ~80 PSI. Which leads us to believe that the rings for Cylinder 1 are going. This engine has 275k miles roughly and after some discussion we came up with a couple solutions. Rebuild the engine (rebuilding the top and bottom end would be most efficient, obviously). Replace the engine with a like motor Replace the engine with a different motor We are currently leaning towards replacing the motor, so options 2 or 3. My question to yall is: Is there another Nissan motor that I could utilize as a direct bolt in? Maybe something with a little more umph than a 3.0L? If so, is anyone local to Western Washington that knows a reputable place to obtain one? What do you guys recommend?
  3. Got this resolved. One of the bulb housings were corroded. Took out the bulb cleaned the contacts the best I could. Now they are operable. I only cleaned the driver side housing and it fixed both.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I definitely trace the cabling and see if I can spot anything. Without knowing how the cablings ran. A part of me wonders if when we welded a hole in the exhaust (near the manifold) a molten spark might have hit something to cause this.
  5. Hey yall. I recently obtained a 1991 Pathfinder and I'm having a particularly frustrating issue. The issue: front turn signals don't work. They don't light up at all. My rear turn signals work Hazards in the rear work. Here is what I have looked at: Checked fuses Checked relay Replaced bulbs I still need to trace the wiring going back to the firewall this weekend. Make sure they didn't short out somewhere....including the ground.( a buddy welded up a hole in the exhaust.. gotta make sure a molten medal smark didn't short something) If anyone has any other suggestions or knows anything that could potentially be an issue.
  6. Hey, just got my first Nissan (91 Pathfinder xe). I live in Olympia, Washington. I've been working on cars sporadically for the last. 20 or so years. Still no where near an expert though. Haha I've been an IT professional since 2009. I've done a bit of everything as far as IT is concerned....anything from networking to telephony and most things between( minus programming stuff). So that's where most of my expertise lands now a days. I have recently gotten back into mechanical work when I obtained a 1965 Plymouth Baracuda Commando. Anyways my Pathfinder needs a bit of tlc and am looking forward to getting her to 100% and beyond(modding and lifting and stuff.).
