Hi folks. I have a 91 pathfinder and the left headlight doesn't work. It started going on and off then died. Odd thing, When I cross rivers or cross puddles they tend to work for a time. What are the most likely places to look for the short. Oh, what years of pathfinders are compatible with the 91.

I've got a 91 pathfinder which is idling excessively high when it is started. It idles at about 2000 rpm until the engine warms up a bit then idles at about 1400 rpm. This happens even in the middle of summer on cooler mornings. It also misses when starting which lasts for a few seconds. I know that it's running rich because of the black soot in the tail pipe. When first driving it while warming the engine up after the rpm drops to normal, the engine will idle at 1500 or 2000 rpm then after about 5 seconds it starts to lower the rpm to normal idle speed. I have never worked on a pathfinder before so I'm having a problem identifying the places which need to check out. My clutch is also ready to be replaced, are there any good aftermarket products. Factory equiptment is pricy.
