  1. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year. Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2008: 56, about average 2007: 138, worse than average 2006: 64, about average 2005: 60, about average In all cases, and especially the 2007, the sample sizes are small. Thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. To see how competitors compare, and to sign up to help: Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  2. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year. Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2003: 90, about average 2002: 61, better than average 2001: 121, about average 2000: 104, about average 1998: 191, worse than average In all four cases the same sizes are again small, which likely explains much of the variation from year to year. A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover more model years. To see how competitors compare, and to sign up to help: Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  3. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through March 31, 2010. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2003: 58, better than average 2002: 86, about average 2001: 103, about average 2000: 104, about average In all four cases the same sizes are again small. A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in August and November. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  4. Updated stats in about two weeks. It looks like we'll once again have partial results for the same four model years. The goal, of course, is full results for all model years in future updates. Just need more participants.
  5. Just enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record. As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May, with a preview for participants next month. Car reliability research
  6. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through December 31, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2008: 71, about average 2005: 108, worse than average but better than earlier In both cases the sample sizes are small. A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. With more participants, we could provide more precise information--these results would probably smooth out more from year to year. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  7. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through December 31, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2003: 53, better than average 2002: 98, about average 2001: 123, about average 2000: 124, about average In all four cases the same sizes are small. But as more data has assumulated, the results have become much more consistent from year to year. A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  8. Updated results next month for the 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003. In all four cases these will again be partial results--still not enough responses for full results. Of course, I'd like to have full results for all years. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved. Not yet signed up? Details here: Car reliability research
  9. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through September 30, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2008: 47, about average 2005: 133, worse than average but (as predicted) better than last time In both cases the sample sizes are small. A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in February and May. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  10. Thanks for helping to sort that out. Most of our members are from the U.S. and Canada, but we have about a thousand outside North America. Figuring out how models compare in different regions can certainly be tricky. Long term we'll probably have separate results for each region.
  11. What part of the world would that be? Also, please contact me, as it might make the most sense to change the year of your vehicle to 2004 for the purposes of this survey.
  12. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2008: 65, about average 2005: 189, much worse than average In both cases the sample sizes are small. The 2005 figure would likely be lower, but still worse than average, with more participants. A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February, hopefully based on a larger number of responses. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  13. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through June 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2003: no repairs reported by any of the 14 participants 2002: 137, worse than average 2001: 87, about average In all three cases the same sizes are small. Taking them all together, the repair frequency is probably around 80 for all three years, and close to "better than average." More participants needed to provide precise results and cover all model years. A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  14. Thanks, I appreciate it. There are now over 350 owners signed up. A very good start, but more needed to properly cover all model years. Car reliability research
  15. None of the 2005+ Pathfinders made it into the May results. The next update is in August. A few more participants would put a model year over the top.
  16. We have updated results for the Pathfinder to include owner experiences through March 2009. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2001: 99, about average, close to "better than average," marginal sample size The 2002 fell a couple responses short of the minimium for a partial result. A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates with additional model years in August and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years. Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  17. Updated results soon. So far, 285 Pathfinder owners and 40 QX4 owners signed up. A good start, but more needed to cover all model years from 1995 on. For the details, and to enroll: Vehicle reliability research
  18. We're starting to put together the May results, and it doesn't look like we'll have enough responses to include either model year. The current survey runs through the end of the month, so it's still possible if more owners sign up and response. Otherwise, the next update will be in August.
  19. It's listed as "QX-Series." Is this confusing? This designation might make more sense for the QX56 than it does for the QX4.
  20. 270 Pathfinder owners signed up so far. A good start, but more remain needed to cover all model years. For the details, and to sign up to help: Car reliability research
  21. The February set of results included one model year of the Pathfinder, the 2001. The reported repair rate is 100 repair trips per 100 vehicles per year, which is on the line between "average" and "better than average" for a 2001. The sample size was small, so on the site this result is asterisked and only visible to participants. We should have additional model years in the next update, in May. In the end, though, this will depend on how many owners sign up and participate. The more we have, the better and more detailed the information we'll be able to provide. TrueDelta now has a separate page for each model's results that includes the results for competing vehicles. The page for the Pathfinder is here: Nissan Pathfinder reliability comparisons
  22. The 2005 and 2008 have been included in the survey, but remain very close to the minimum sample size. So additional participants would be very helpful. Vehicle reliability research
  23. Four model years are either right above or right below the minimum now. A big thanks to people from this forum. That said, some years could still fall a few responses short of making it into the results--additional participants would be very helpful. Help get your year into the results: Vehicle reliability research
  24. In the latest results, the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder had a repair rate of 102 successful repair trips per 100 cars per year, which is about average for a 2001. With more participants, we could provide more precise results, and include additional model years in the next set of results, in February. For the full set of results, and to sign up to help: TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results
  25. Now just three owners short for the 2005, and six short for the 2008.
