  1. I'm about to sink more money into another truck and swap trannys, but after sitting for 2 months the truck is leaking a bit of oil from the rocker arm cover gasket on both sides - seems like a minor leak but it is running far enough to burn off the headers. Cause for concern? In addition to this, the truck hesitates and shakes a little under mild acceleration - could it just need new plugs? I don't want to keep throwing money at it unless it's worthwhile and the two problems are minor.
  2. Wow I didn't even notice that he was from Calgary - I'll have to take him out for some beers. What a small world.
  3. I LOVE YOU MOOKIE!!!!! :tonguefinger: I replaced the other half of that harness and didn't even check the fusible links - they were swollen to hell and now that's they're swapped ------> the TRUCK RUNS LIKE NEW! everything works, no codes, no problems. You're a lifesaver. If you're ever in Calgary, PM me and i'll be owing you a few beers (and I'll direct you to the nearest trails...)
  4. I think I may have a solution to my problems - I found a cheap 91 pathfinder 4x4 auto that needs a transmission, and my tranny in the 93 4x4 auto works fine. Are the transmissions the same or did they change them at all? thanks again
  5. Where's the tranny controller? I've already pulled the ecu and dist., but I didn't know there was a tranny controller? And thanks for the help guys
  6. He is driving me everywhere, but I don't want to be an asshole about it - people make mistakes. And every controller? What do you mean by that? Just the ECU? I can go get one from a wrecker this morning and swap them out if that will make it start...
  7. Well there's no bulbs lit up in the dash - no CEL or anything, just a backlight behind a blank LCD. This is driving me insane trying to figure out what to do...
  8. That's where I was thinking the issue was, but where is the ECU in these? Is it the black box behind the fuse box? It could be that that's clicking.
  9. UPDATE - There is power to the wipers/lights and dash, but when I go to start it there is a relay clicking near the fuse box and nothings happens - second relay from the left that's attached to the fuse box (on top) and it's a blue relay. Any help would be appreciated....
  10. On my way to the frame shop to get an estimate (after stopping for some beers at the stampede) I left my lights on and killed the battery. I get my room mate to bring me to my truck in the AM to boost it and after I hook up the connections and go to start it, he decides that I have the connectors backwards and SWITCHES THEM! (smoke, sparkle, crack, bang). So I go get a new battery hoping for the best and it won't start - WHERE DO I START? In its current stage it's not worth bringing it to the shop to get it fixed - I have replaced the harness that runs off the +ve post that melted and I'm about to put in some new relays (all fuses are intact). I'm guessing that the alternator is gone as well, but what else should need to be replaced? NOTHING happens when I turn the ignition (no power, no clicking, etc). PLEASE HELP!
  11. That's right, who needs steel when you have rubber cord? Although, ratchet straps to get it to the body shop 2 mins away would save a tow.
  12. Thanks for all the replies everyone - it goes to the bodyshop next tuesday (Calgary is stupid and you need to book an appointment for estimates!??!?!?) And just to let the mod know - I'm pissed off enough that it was in this state when I bought it, why would I do that to someone else? The whole reason I posted was with others' safety in mind.
  13. )@($&@)&$!!!!!!! It's just killing me to drive my BMW to a construction site EVERY DAY! (It's on some serious backroads, and the car isn't handling it well...obviously.)
  14. Note the alberta - safety inspections don't happen all that often (I'm not realizing this is a bad thing.) And it's bothsides, it broke clean off. I would imagine it was like this before I bough it, just somehow didn't notice it when I was looking it over. It moving around definitely broke off the brake line - it separated right at the broken subframe.
  15. What kind of cash are we talking about? I'm away from home and don't have my garage/tools (I wouldn't be able to fix this anyways though...) so it needs to go into the shop. And what's the worse thing that could happen if I drove it on the road? WOW - I just moved from ottawa to calgary (worse mistake ever) and will be moving back soon. I just need it to get my by...
  16. By the way - the frame piece the goes over the rear diff and muffler is what is ripped out from the frame.....in case you didn't notice.
  17. 93 Pathfinder XE After driving home the pathfinder I bought for pennies and blowing a brake line midway home (close call), I crawl underneath to find out where the clunking was coming from - something I hadn't noticed before I bought it. Although I had BIG plans for it, I only really need it for 1.5months of work - 40 miles a day each way with speeds of up to 70mph. WILL I BE ABLE TO MAKE IT FOR THAT LONG? Or is this really a big risk that I shouldn't take (after I fix the brake line of course) Secondly - repairable? (I'm thinking no) Thanks in advance for the help.
