  1. I will really miss the 4 wheel drive of the Pathy........I just had really bad luck with the vehicle. And I'm not impressed with any of the newer 4X4's except the new Nissan Xterra- but it's out of my price range. Also I'm almost 6' 4. I would have loved a Nissan 300z or 240sx but I don't fit inside them. I will miss this forum though because everyone is so helpfull. I know that a Chrysler doesn't sound too appealing but it really is a nice looking car. In 2001 they redesigned it with more horsepower. And it has a Mitsubishi engine so at least that is Japanese!(from the eclipse). I'll try and post a picture soon . Anyways thanks for everything and good luck with your Pathfinder's! Sincerely-Patrick
  2. Well it can't be any less reliable (or slower) than a Pathfinder! They are money pits! And also a Sebring is better on gas mileage and has enough hp to avoid being passed by kia's. hahahahaha! But seriously, you can't really compare a truck to a coupe.
  3. I traded it for a 2001 Sebring Coupe. I know its a totally different kind of vehicle. I didn't think I would ever buy a Chrysler but its pretty sharp and there aren't too many of the coupes around.
  4. I had to get rid of it. Limited slip differential was binding, the auto tranny was slipping, manifolds were leaking, the frame was rusting with two huge watermelon holes above the rear wheel wells, holes all the way thru under the rear seats, tires were bald, and it had hit a deer. The dealership gave me $2500 for it though! Anyways just wanted to say thanks for all the help and advice. I loved my truck but it was pretty much dead. I have a new Haynes manual for Pathfinders I will sell for $14.00 including shipping and brand new blue NGK Sparkplug wires in the box. They look really sharp and i will sell them for $60.00 including shipping. Thanks! Sincerely-Patrick
  5. Hi. I have a 95 Pathfinder and trust this forum so I hope you don't mind answering this question. My mom has a 1998 Nissan Maxima with 230,000 miles. Runs excellent, never a problem. It was recently recommended by a garage that she gets the auto tranny fluid changed or flushed. It still has the original fluid it came with-it has never been changed during its lifetime. Is it better to leave the old fluid in there or get a tranny flush? I always thought it was better to just leave it be with such high mileage. Thanks.
  6. Hey I found a 1997 Pathfinder with only 75,984 miles for $6995. I'm going to check it out today or tomorrow. What are your thoghts on a 1997? Is it less problematic than a 1995? Thanks.
  7. Well I didn't think I could afford an XTerra, but maybe I could find a higher mileage one. How has their reliability been? Is the engine weak?
  8. Oh and your replacement truck can't be another Pathfinder!!
  9. Ok. To start off I love my 1995 Pathfinder. I like how it handles, its good looks and cargo room with the back seats down so I can stuff my mountain bike back there and sleep. Here's what I don't like- weak engine, suspect auto transmission and my rear frame is starting to rust! I was inspecting my new shocks and I noticed some pretty heavy scaling on the rear frame. OK this has me a little freaked out. I'm going to a body shop today. If the damage is a costly repair, then I will probably sell this truck....... So if you had to get rid of your Pathfinder and needed another truck, what would you buy? I would be looking at used SUV's. There really isn't anything out there that compares to the Pathfinder. I don't like and can't afford X-Terra's. I wouldn't buy anything American. I looked at all types of SUV's and only found one that interests me: a 1993-1995 Toyota Landcruiser. What are your thoughts on this vehicle? Oh man this feels like I'm cheating on my wife or something!!!!
  10. Yes It might be my tread pattern causing the road rumbling noise. I looked closely at my front tires and my outside tread kind of resembles Jack-o-lantern teeth. But they still do have alot of life left in them. Maybe when I get the new shocks on they will start to wear evenly?
  11. I mostly see red ones, followed by Champagne Pearl Metallic (the color of my Pathfinder) and finally black. I have only seen one blue, one white and a few black ones. I have never seen a grey one in person but I think that they look the sharpest. Do they make a green one?
  12. There is a piece of plastic behind the passenger rear wheel well. It is the size of a basketball cut in half and it is black. What is behind there?
  13. Thanks for the replies. I'm getting the Monroe Sensa-Tracs installed tomorrow.
  14. Thanks for the replies. I was asking because I won a set of Pathfinder Bosch Foglights on Ebay from a 1990 and hoped they would fit on my 95. Only $6.55!!!!
  15. 143,000 miles on the Pathfinder and its time for new shocks. Any recommendations? I don't need anything crazy, just suspension tough enough for the crappy Maine roads. Also I do alot of highway driving I'm sure OEM would cost a fortune....
  16. I read on the internet that the transmission cooler only sucked on Pathfinders up to 1994. Did they finally fix the problem in 1995?
  17. I have alot of noise coming from the front tires/wheels that only happens at 50-60 MPH. It sonds like I am driving with tire chains on. But at all other speeds they are relatively quiet. The alignment is perfect, no pulling to either side. I had my wheel bearings changed last year. Any guesses? Thanks.
  18. Are the 1990-95 Foglights all the same on the Pathfinders? Or did they change the shape/size on certain years? Thanks.
  19. I saw one on Ebay a few weeks ago
  20. Hi. I have a 1995 Pathfinder. Runs fine, I never have to add coolant or oil between changes. It just passed NY Inspection with no problems. But man does the exhaust smoke! Especially when compared to other cars such as my mothers and brothers. Also it has a bad odor to it-If I have my truck running outside you can smell the fumes in the house-very strong(so now I park further down the driveway). It drips what looks like water from the tailpipe. Does anyone elses truck have these symptoms? Thanks for the help.
  21. Hi. I'll pay anybody who has some stock fog lenses laying around. Thanks-Patrick
  22. You know what, the Silverstars I put in were actually only 45 watts (not 100 watts) and they still cracked the lenses!
  23. I know I should have checked that out first...I trusted the recommendation of the brighter bulbs from VIP Auto!
  24. I put some Silverstar lights into my Bosch fogs and they get so hot that they cracked my lenses! Does anyone know where to get Bosch replacement lenses without the housing? Thanks in advance.
  25. I had my exhaust manifold leak repaired, but there is still an annoying sound like rocks rattling in a can-all the time. I took the car back in to the Nissan Dealership thinking that there might be another broken stud and they said my BPT valve was making the noise. Has anyone had a similar experience and how important is this part? Thanks.
