  1. I went to the dealer to day to get my oil changed and asked him how much it would cost to get the fuel filter replaced. He said $55.00, I said never mind. Anyway my question is how easy is it to install a fuel filer? And is it located behind the gas tank on a 2001 Pathfinder? Could anyone give me some quick instruction? I don't want to pay $55.oo dollar for a $12.00 part. Thanks.:help:

  2. I did have to remove the inner panels, and it was a factory wiring harness. I had to disconnect the rear tail light wire/plug, install the hitch light plug, and then connect that back to the cars wiring. I then pulled the wires throught the drain holes under the car to the hitch. There is nothing under the car that you can attach the wiring harness to. So the answer to your question is yes. The panel do come over pretty easy and snap right back.

    thanks

  3. I'm back from my Dad's with my tow hitch. I have been back a couple of weeks now and have used the hitch package about three times moving to a new apartment with no problems. The removal and installation went pretty easy. It took me about a total of 5 hours to remove and install the hitch including the wiring harness, granted I was not in a hurry and really wanted to take my time. All that it required was removing the 3 bolts that held the condenser in place, removing the two rubber hooks that held the muffler in place so I had extra room, and removing the bolts for the hitch. Luckily my dad's car had the factory wiring harness so I used that for my light hook ups. The total cost was $15.00 for some wiring parts and wrench which I needed. Also had to borrow a tork wrench from my a local parts store to get the correct tork on everything. All in all I saved about $285.oo doing it myself compared to what the dealer quoted me. Thanks to all. :aok:

  4. Question?

My dad is giving me the tow package off his 2001 Pathy when I visit him at the end of the month. How hard is it to install and remove the tow hitch and wiring? Is there anything I should know? It looks like 6 bolts and there is already a connection for the wiring. Let me know.

    Thanks

Oh, I almost forgot. The Nissan Dealer want's to charge me almost $300 to remove and install this tow package. They said it would be 5 hours work at about $60 an hour.

  5. Well, Thanks for everyone's help. I think I'm really going to like this list. I aslo think I'll go with the Air Bags and think about the compressor for a while. For $68.00 it should be a cheap fix. I'll get it after I purchase my KN Filter and let you know how it goes. Thanks Again. -alcohol-

  6. Thanks,

The Air Bags look like my best option. I'm trying to eliminate the bottoming out when I have people in the back or loaded up with bikes and gear. I also noticed that the back looks lower then the front. Would you recommend getting the compress unit too? -bounce-

  7. Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has just lifted the rear of there Pathfinder. My Pathfinder is only 2 wheel drive and really don't want a full lift. I just want to lift the rear end about 2 inches because I carry a lot of cargo and the rear tends to sink. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions on where to look for parts? Do I just have to replace the rear springs? Any idea on cost? The most off roading I do is to and from bike trails. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  8. Hello,

I'm new to the list and I hope that you can help. I have a 2001 SE Pathfinder and I'm looking for a set of water proof seat covers. I want a pair that fits snug. If you have any suggestions, web sites, or etc please let me know. I don't do a lot of off roading but I do, do a lot of Mt. Biking and would like to keep the mud off my seats. Thank you.
