  1. I would like to install a suspension lift on my 94 pathfinder i was wondering if there was a how to on this or one in the forum that i missed and also what my options are. if heard Cherokee springs in the rear and upper control arms in the front. if there are any other options for the lift id love to know about them. Id like to stay with a suspension lift because my bigest problem is clearance to the frame.

    Thanks Dave

  2. There's only the one O2 sensor on a WD21 - it's mounted on the pipe between the collector and the catalytic converter.

Im not sure what that means or what the collector is can you explain it to me some more is the sensor before the catalitic converter or after it would removing the cat confuse the ecu

  3. i was wondering how many oxygen sensors i have on my 94 pathy i know that there is 1 before the cat on the exhaust manafold where exactly is it and is there one after the cat or not

    thanks for the help

    Dave

  4. Depends on what's making the noise. Sometimes it's just the front crossmember-to-frame bolts needing to be re-torqued, sometimes it's turn stops, sometimes it's a centerlink, tie rod, idler arm or balljoint. It could also be a wallered-out compression rod, engine mount (possible, not likely), UCA bushings or a bent UCA spindle.

are the lower ball joints greesable??? also what is the part called that connects the tie rod to the hub assembely could this be causing the popping??? it is greasable but it is very soft like there is no grease in it how expensive is it to have the ball joints replaced i would do it my self but im at school in Gunnision CO so i have no garage or tools. where are the crossmember to frame bolts

    Thx Dave

  5. It broke metal right if so all you need to do is replace the lock and the arm they come together. I found a lock and arm at a scrap yard in a Nissan truck (if you have power locks make sure that the casing on the lock looks the same other wise the sensor wont fit on right to if you dont have power locks dont wory about it) then i took both the old broken lock and the working lock to a locksmith and asked him to take the insides out of the old lock and put them in the new lock so the key from the old lock would work in the new one. then i just put the new lock onto the rest of the old assembly and put it back in the door.

  6. when im turning i get a small pop about halfway through the turn i dont think that its the bump stops because im not turned all the way it sounds like the pop is coming from the front end.

    thanks for the help

  7. if it happens to someone else you can take it to a shop and you can put it on a lift and run it in 4x4 to make sure its in deed working or put it on some pavement in 4H and you will know if 4x4 is working or not...both are not great for the t case but its a quick check before going through a bunch of unneeded work

my test was to find some loose dirt (not hard around here) and drop the clutch and see if all 4 tiers were spinning and you will know when you let go of the clutch whether 4x4 is working because it takes a lot of gas to make all 4 spin but not much to burn the 2 in the back.

  8. yup. i have a D shackle in one but have never used it yet and i've had in there for a few years. lol.

so those tabs on the frame are strong enough to tow i saw them there but i wasn't sure if they could handle the weight of towing somebody.

thx for all the help Dave

  9. I had a wire break right at the transfer case on the 4x4 switch. It was a PITA to solder back on, but I managed to get it on without having to replace the switch. If the 4x4 works, then it's definately in the wiring along the way.

im almost positive that it is the wiring but i don't know where it runs or where it could possibly have broken or even where the switch is.

  10. today i was going down a muddy dirt road and noticed that my indicator light that tells me that im in 4wd drive was not lit up anymore it lit up when i shifted the t case into 4wd but sometime between hitting the dirt and getting back to the pavement it went out and im not sure why my 4wd still seems to work fine but no light which would be nice to have just as a reminder that im in 4wd before i start heading down a paved road with the truck still in 4wd. is this easy to fix or a common problem??? or does fixing it require ripping into the t-case

    thx dave

  11. LOL, jack up one rear tire, have the trans in neutral and see if you can turn the wheel, if it doesnt turn or turns really hard you have a LSD rear.

Thx for the help i thought that that would work

  12. How about accelerating while pushing on the brake, while some one checks for both rear tires to spin? If you have the orange sticker, then it is 100% likely that you have the LSD.

i dont understand what will happen if its not a LSD and i have a 5 speed so gas + brake = stall

  13. i just noticed that I have a orange sticker that says use lsd oil on my rear Dif but it also has a yellow mark probably from a junk yard is there any way that i can check to see if i really have a lsd rear end

    thx Dave

  14. Yep, the whole rear hatch is the problem usually. I think there used to be a plastic thing on the hoop/hook like on the doors, but if there was originally, it was long gone. I spent a couple years simply wrapping the hoop with a couple layers of electical tape and replacing every 6 months-1 year. Tried bending the hoop in a vice, with a hammer, etc. to get it to pull the door closed harder. I finally just slid in a washer per side on the bolts between the base of that hoop thing and the body, about 1/4" thick if that, and it works like a charm.

so you actually put the washers on the hoop (to make it longer?) that the latch catches not the switch? and how do you get into the back hatch do you have to take the door pannel off or can you get at it with out removing the pannel and if you have to remove the pannel how do you get that one off.

  15. Finally figured this out due to another post - turns out it is the rear latch for the rear hatch. I tried moving mine forwards (towards the windshield) but that didn't work. I then spaced it up with some 1/4 flat washers (plated) and it works like a charm. No more strobe lights at night from under my dash!!

    This site rocks!

can you explain that a little better I have the Idiot light on and The dome lights and Im pretty sure that its the hatch because i opend and closed all of the other doors and the lights got Dimmer so i think that it is either the hatch or the back glass.

  16. did you just bend them with your hands and how did you have to bend them? what year is your pathy would a 94 have the same problem also the instructions list a lot of things to be disconnected from the firewall and the fenders do those get reconnected or do they just get left how they are. also who makes the body lift kits that 4x4parts sells? and what about the radiator drop down kit advantages and disadvantages?

  17. i Read that write up in it he mentions that there are some things that are attached to both the body and the frame that need to be unbolted and i was wondering if anyone had a list of these things or remembers how many of them there were. and what they were I have a 94XE with A/C

  18. whats the backspacing on the stock chrome rims how far would the tires stick out with them. how difficult is it to install a body lift putting the lifting blocks on the frame to body mounts sounds like the easy part from what i have read. what do i have to worry about relocating if i get a body lift. I'm not that much of a experienced mechanic if i have directions that covers everything in detail I can get most things done but that usually doesn't happen. how long does a body lift take to install?
