  1. Replaced the round flood lights behind the grille with some blue ‘Raptor lights’.
Lights are LED lights designed for boats.
Built a bracket from plastic angle wall “corner covers” used to protect your sheet rock.
Funny I had multiple immediate reactions to them at the one store I stopped by really quick this afternoon.

  2. Man Fall is STILL by far the best season of the year!

The fish should actually be getting a little shallower right now with the cooler weather.

They’ll bite. Research what they are hitting this time of year. That’s your best best for success.

Good luck on the John boat.....

  3. Early May.
Cedar creek reservoir here in Gainesville.

First and only trip so far. Been traveling too much this summer to go back!

That’s going to change real soon with with temps cooling down!

Had what might have been my PB bass on this trip. Similar story as yours with little/no fight. Was fishing a worm on a blowdown. Literally thought I had a limb on the line.
No fight at all. As soon as it got to the top of the water, it saw me and sling the bait. Leave it to my lack of knowledge with bass fishing to mess up an opportunity like that!

Still a beautiful morning on the water!

  5. And a completely different outing while down in South FL a couple of weeks ago, targeting exotic species with my brother and younger cousin:
Peacock bass, Mayan cichlids and a blue tilapia

  6. Bro, you're holding out on me! Lol.

Cool thread to start. I'll see if I can grab a few pics of recent trips I've made and share them.

We have got to get together finally. I have a couple of kayaks if you're interested in hitting some lakes or the river around here sometime.

Cedar creek reservoir here in town is pretty nice. Only fished it once though.

Just starting to bass fish more myself. Usually target saltwater when back home or trout up in the mountains.

Your PB is much bigger than mine when it comes to bass, and you just started fishing?!?!?

    Awesome stories too.

Don’t hate on those crappie.....I hear they are some of the best tasting fish out there!

  7. Finally got around to touching up some of the under carriage and adding some red accents. Cleaned up and sprayed the rear axle and painted the lower and cross suspension links red. Going to remove the spare tire chain at some point. Should have done it while down there. Have a little touch up to do to clean it up a bit.

Going to remove the nerf bars and get them cleaned up and sprayed tomorrow.

On the front, I switched out the headlights to black housing version, the winch cable to synthetic and added a hawse fairlead.

The headlights I ordered were supposed to have the clear reflector, not amber so a little upset about that, but oh well. I'll cover it with black or red vinyl possibly.

Next and most likely final things to do is replace the exhaust from headers back and completr some engine tune up needs. The belt squeaks when first turning the truck on for the first 30 seconds to 1 minute, sometimes longer.

More recently, it has a metal squealing sound every so often too very brieflly like a pulley may be causing additional friction. It all goes away once the engine is warmed up however.

Wondering if it may be the water pump starting to go.

The tires also rub ever so slightly when turning, so I'm going to make some lift spacers out of aluminum to add 1/4"-1/2" to clear them. Hope this doesn't blow the CV axles when using 4wd.

When I switched to OME springs, the front is not quite as high as it was with the spacers I initially had, so I'm hopeful it will be good since it's on springs and the spacers will get.it back to the previous lifted height.

  8. Last night one of the spring cups on my driver side drum came loose causing the drum to get smoking hot and the shoes to seize.

Had to fix everything in the Kroger parking lot at 11pm in the freezing cold! Dang it!
    Bro, you need my #!
I would have come any gave you a hand.

Gonna PM it to you for future reference!

  9. That's crazy man!

Gonna need an emergency recap ladder to get in that thing.

    Looks great!

A little high for my personal liking, but have complete respect for the mad fab skills it took to get it done.

  10. Out in Southern Utah on vacation this week. In Moab today, halfway through the Mighty 5.

Made sure to represent NPORA at Arches & Canyonlands while out here!

Couldn't bring the Troutfinder all the way out here from GA, but man would I love to one day!
