  2. Hey guys!

Well after about a year and getting an entirely new truck, I feel like I can finally make a build thread here.

I've only owned r50s. This 98 QX4 4x4 is my second, my 2wd 98 PF is sitting in my driveway waiting for a new transmission.

I can't seem to find any before pics any more, but it was white and gold, the gold was wearing badly and it was time for a change.

I installed KYBs all the way around, and a 2in spacer lift. put on my old wheels from the Pathfinder.

I met up with r50 guru Terry and got to work.

We ripped off all of the fender flares, door trim, and bumpers.

the wheels I have didnt clear the brake calipers, so I ran the front wheels stock for a few days until i could get to work again.

I fit the rear lights from my PF, and bedlined the bottom half.

Then parts started coming. The cvs were awful, and i was tired of the weird wheel look... Mile Marker 435s for gas mileage and saving cv life!

New cvs installed, MMs installed, grinded the calpier down about 1/8 in and it cleared! just got to let it off the jack and test it out!

    testing.....

Pulled off the gray metal bumper to paint it black, ended up liking the look and left it off, put on some temporary turn signals, and installed 2001 LE roof racks.

Thats currently where I am at.

I have some pretty fresh 33/12.5/15 BFG KM2s to put on it, just need to get some new wheels with better backspacing.

As for the future.... the sky is the limit. Want a pre-runner style front tube bumper, sliders, sfd, going to snorkel soon, getting an LSD from my good friend Terry, and general camping equipment and recovery things. The wife and I will be using it for camping and road trips, while I will take and bash on it sometimes =]

  3. Yeah meats-tires. Lol. Or shoes I guess depends on where your from.

I did the 265/70r16 Goodyear Duratrac MTs. I had to trim front bumper, mud flap and relocate inner liner. 33's you would have to lose the mud flap, do some major trimming and move inner liner, no big deal, like 10min of work if that's what you want.

I was racking my brain as to why your truck didn't seem lifted much. It's the step bars!! Lol best thing I ever did was junk mine. If your my height or my wife's you can't actually use them plus 2" visual lift and sooo much cleaner. I took one off very cautiously, stepped back and loved it then zipped the other side off and started getting compliments on the lift.

Man you must drive a lot, these tires should last me 40k miles. That's like 5 years for me.

I drove a 98 PF for 9 years..... ran 33s under it at stock height for about 2.... no fender wells, did manage to keep the rear mudflaps though

About to put 33's under this.....

there is no inner fender well, about an inch of each fender is trimmed back, and i removed the air box as i am going to be fitting a snorkel soon.

I will be posting pics when the new stuff is all on

  4. Hey!

I've been working on the Pathfinder quite a bit and want to meet up with some other people on here!

I'm trying to set up a meet and cruise in May of this year either in Galveston or at General Sam's off road park in Huntsville, Texas.

If anyone would be interested, I'll gladly spearhead this project, but if there's not much interest, I may just try and meet a few people individually

    Thanks and keep pathfinding!

  5. it doesn't have the LSD unfortunately, and the same gears, hg43

I'm getting the LSD pretty soon, have a buddy with one for cheap

I'm very excited for the coilovers and will have more info coming soon, this is going to be pretty cool, guys, so stay tuned=]

just going to make a CAI and probably eventually do an electric fan set up, other than that, i'm good with the engine

  6. Definitely, I'll be doing the entire assembly!

    trans, everything!

Luckily I've found some awesome help on here (more to come with that)

Going to start with a cold air and a Limited Slip for the rear, followed by a 4 inch SFD, and some custom made coilovers!

After that, it'll be saving and research until the 4x4 conversion, the end goal being Gone Moab 2017 for "completion" (they're never done!)

Thinking about doing an engine rebuild kit between the 2 installments of parts, any recommendations on extending engine life and comfort?

    Thanks again!

  7. It does run, but it has a lot of miles on it, and I absolutley hate leather interior, especially being in texas, and the sunroof leaks a bit.

plus, this is my pathfinder, it doesn't really matter to me if it's more difficult to do, it's mine and always has been.
