  1. Does it have a bad ignition lock or are you just trying to replace the actual switch part? The switch you can get separate and it just goes on the back and you keep your key. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/search.oap?keyword=ignition+switch&year=1992&make=Nissan&model=Pathfinder&vi=1211937
  2. adjust it till you can press in the middle of belt like 1/4 inch or so fsm says 5 to 8 mm depending on belt quality new vs old
  3. I would check the alternator belt tension. Mine would buck like hell in first gear if you got after really hard or going up a hill while off roading bad enough to almost totally die out. It would be really bad if it got wet and you would have to slowly let it rev up.
