  1. I think you guys will enjoy this video as well!
  2. A little back story on my black Pathy... I bought her in march of last year at 132k miles and have only put 4.8k miles on her since then due to my time out at sea on the USS Nimitz. I had a carfax done and decided to buy this pathfinder because she virtually had one owner- an older lady who had recently passed and willed the truck to her son. Her son literally let it sit in his driveway for months before eventually putting it up on CL, which I bought about 2 days after his first post for $2,800. I replaced the ball joints when bought due to busted boots & did an initial oil change and one again at 135k miles right after my reverse went out. Which brings me to the issue at hand... When my reverse went out it was out the the blue like many of the other accounts I have read. One thing my Pathy does that I have not read on other's accounts is that mine would go into reverse every time I initially started her up... until now at least. Now it is one in every three times or so that I will get lucky. The drive to reverse quick-switch worked a couple of times but I would usually find myself switching back and forth 4-5 times and giving up. Now I have just gotten really good at driving with no reverse but I fear the transmission might be on it's way out of the door, especially when my wife's 2010 ford focus check engine light started flashing on her way home from the store and had her car towed to the nearest auto clinic. I will find out more about her car tomorrow... (wish me luck). My first Pathy is laid up at my grandparents lake house in FL due to a transmission issue as well. That one wont shift into 4th gear OD and starts revving high at 45 MPH. I got many estimates and they all pointed towards a rebuild/new tranny. But when reading more about the transmission issues I found that some have had other fixes besides a new tranny and a cooler bypass. I've read about the reverse "drum" having two groves carved out of it causing it not to engage as well as something about a plastic ring or clip that has broken due to slamming on your brakes at high speeds. I will admit the plastic ring/clip thing sounds bogus but I figured I would ask the people who live and breathe Pathfinders. Could it be something other than an overheating issue? Thank all of you who read this and know that I appreciate any feedback on my Pathy's situation.
