Here is what is going on with my 94 4x4 pathfinder with AT It will not go above 2500 rpm, dies to about 1000 rpm, goes back up to 2500, dies back down. It idles and starts fine. First time it happened I cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner and worked about 2 weeks and started again, cleaned the MAF again, ran 1 week and started again. Replaced the MAF and still kept doing it, check, cleaned all grounds, connections no change. Tapped on the upper intake close to the IAC and PVC area and started running fine. This has happened three time since and tapping on the upper intake fixes it every time. I always thought the IAC messed up the idle, Should I replace it or am I just lucky that tapping it works? Engine light does not cut on and codes are clear.
