  1. Struts and shocks are original from the factory. The noise is coming from the front end and has been there for about a year, the wheel wobble didn't start happening until I changed the wheels last week.
  2. Hey guys and girls, New owner of a 2002 SE with 145,000km. The vehicle has been in my family since new, originally my mom's vehicle for 11 years, then passed on to my dad for a year or two, and now to me. I've only owned cars up until this point and this is my first 4WD, if I don't include my Subaru. I bought the Pathfinder as a vehicle to hold me over through this upcoming winter but she is really starting to grow on me. It's not like it's the first time I've drove it though, I have been driving it here and there since I was a teenager. I would usually borrow it to go camping or to haul things around. It's been crashed and repaired by almost every member of the family. I have two brothers and of course we all had to see how capable it was off-road at one time or another. None of the accidents ever caused any major damage but the front and rear bumpers sure as hell don't fit like they used to. Here's a picture of her when she was only 5 years old: The first thing I did was change the wheels. I've never liked the look of the stock "triangle in a triangle" SE rims. Did some research on here and other forums and decided on some steel Pro Comps. This is what she looks like now: The tires are the stock size (255/65/16) and the rims are 16x8 with a 4.25" backspacing. No problems with them hitting the fenders over bumps but I doubt they ever will in my normal city driving. The fronts rub a bit when I turn to nearly full lock while reversing. I'm having issues with the new wheels wobbling since installed. They are lug-centric and I've tried different nuts as well as different torquing techniques on and off the ground to try to get the wheels centered but with no luck. The speed it wobbles at just tends to move around when I do, anywhere between 85-105 km/h. I just ordered some 108mm-100mm hub centering rings to help alleviate the problem. I'll let you know how that goes. Other than a K&N drop-in filter she's all stock. No major issues just a heat shield that was rattling that I removed and a front-end, low-speed clunk that I am trying to diagnose. The rear-end is starting to sag a bit and so I've been looking into either new coils and shocks or getting the Air Lift 1000 kit. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for the wheel wobble and front-end clunking.
