    Front Tire Wear

I replaced all of the steering parts prior to getting it aligned. I didnt replace the front shocks when I did this. The T Bars didnt max out, but I imagine they came close to it. After adjusting the T bars and replacing the worn steering parts, I took the truck to get aligned. I can get a copy of the print out from the shop to show the numbers, but I know that the negative camber that I have, has developed after the alignment was done, so something has moved/worn. I will take a look for the shims
  2. 91 Pathfinder 4x4 204k 265/75/r16 Mudstars About 8 months ago, I lifted my Pathy just shy of 3" with the JGC springs/crank up the T-bars. I replaced the tie rods and the steering center link as there was a bunch of movement in there, and then had it aligned. It was working out well until about a month ago I noticed alot of tire noise from my drivers tire and both wheels were visibly cambered in (negative camber). The tires are both wearing on the inside and have a weird wear pattern. The lugs on the tread are wearing in an alternating high/low pattern. Any ideas on where to go from here? What could be wearing that would cause this type of wear? And what would cause my camber angle to be that bad over just a few months?
  3. You certainly nailed it with all that info! Thank you. I ended up with new inner and outers and sleeves as well as a new center link to start with. As it is a DD that sees some occasional trails.
  4. 91 Pathfinder XE 4x4. I cranked up my torsion bars and did the JGC springs in the rear got some new wheels and tires and took the truck to a buddy of mine to get aligned. He fixed my caster/camber but when I got to the shop to pick it up, he jacked up the drivers side front wheel and showed me how much toe in/toe out movement I had, it was kinda scary lol. So I have some steering parts to replace. I plan on at least starting with doing the tie rods and the track bar (I think thats what its called) that goes between the tie rods. You guys think that will get me going in the right direction? Is there anywhere that sells these items as a kit? Where can I find a new track bar? Thanks in advance!
  5. Picked up an Xterra rack the other day for $45, pretty happy with that! Now to get motivated to install it....
  6. 83* (28*C) here in sunny Florida today!
  7. Thanks for all the replies guys, a lot of interesting options. I was considering Plasti Dip since I have a few cans at the house already. I wondered if that Wipe New actually worked or if it was just a gimmick. Thanks everyone who chimed in!
  8. I just painted my 91 and was thinking about trying to restore my fender flares. They are in decent shape, but are lighter in color than they once were. Has anyone had any luck restoring them with any products? I was hoping to avoid painting them
  9. 88 Honda Accord hatch... I actually miss that car
  10. ^^^ Thats more than I would pay for a complete IROC
  11. Yep, That's what they were...never knew about those until today. But definitely a rivet with a threaded inside.
  12. The screw heads started stripping out when I tried that So I just drilled them out. The screws were screwed into rivets that attached it to the roof
  13. I did a quick search and came up empty.... How do you remove the roof rack on a 91? I pulled off all the cross bars and tried unscrewing the 4 or 5 screws that are in the channel but they just spin. I started pulling the headliner down and it looks like there are rivets holding the screw in under the support ribs? I am fixing some pretty bad rust spots on my roof and some of them go up under the rack.
  14. Haha...Definitely drives better and soooo much smoother! The shifter doesnt shake back and fourth on accel anymore lol
  15. UPDATE I pulled the upper intake, pulled that injector and replaced it. Shes firing on all cylinders now! The truck drives and sounds sooo much better! Thanks for help guys!
  16. I got it taken care of when I got home today.... total PITA, but I got it taken care of! Thanks!
  17. Thanks, I was planning on trying that next, just at 1130 last night I wasnt about to go back for round 2! lol
  18. I pulled the upper intake of my 91 Path yesterday to replace an injector. I planned on replacing most of the hoses (vacuum and coolant) that were around the intake while I was doing this, so I cut the 2 lines on the back of the plenum and got new pieces. There is almost zero room back there to get the clamps seated. I attached the lines to the heater core tubing first with the intake removed and then after an hour of fighting them I got them attached to the back of the intake. However, when I fully set the plenum down, it kinked the lines I had worked so hard to attach. I called it quits for the night before I started breaking things. Any tips on doing this?
  19. Thanks for the info guys!

  23. Hey all! Im new to the forum and the world of Pathfinders. Im a Mustang guy and needed a break from working on them for a while so I picked up a 91 XE 4x4 5 speed from a friend for free it needed a clutch slave and master so I did that and got it on the road again. Been driving it for about 5 months now and it has 192k on the clock. It was a beach truck down here so its got some rust that Im getting to fixing soon. I just did the timing belt/tensioner/water pump and a new radiator. Been reading alot about the trucks lately and look forward to a small lift and some other mods!
  24. Hey guys, Im new to the forum and been browsing it the past week or so. I have a 91 Pathfinder XE 4x4 with 192k. I got the truck about 6 months ago, doing some work on it and driving it. I just finished the timing belt/tensioner/water pump and radiator. Since I got the truck, it has sounded like its down a cylinder. It still drove pretty good so I hadnt messed with it. I ran a compression check today and all of the cylinders were 160-190. I went through and pulled one plug wire at a time and when I pulled the wire on the front cylinder on the drivers side, the idle didnt change. I checked and I have spark to that plug. So that leaves just the injector wither not firing or being plugged up, right? Where do I go from here? Am I able to pull that injector without pulling the upper intake? It seems I can at least see it through the runner. Thanks in advance!
