  1. 235/75/15 BF AT KO tires on steel wheels and long tubes on the motor in my 86.5 hardbody. Just rolled 146k miles. City kills my economy. Get about 17-18 in the city. Get about 25mpg on the highway. Also have 4.11 gears.

  2. You are in cali so you probably have to do smog and the Pacesetter headers are not CARB approved but I believe the Thorleys are. If you have to pass smog then you will have to get emissions lines done up. Probably custom bent piping.

If you do not have to do smog just rip the emissions crap out of there. I have 90-95 headers on my 86.5. They work fine but I ripped out all the emissions junk and plugged it. It idles smoother and more consistantly now.

  3. Nope. Killed mine off when I put headers in. I plugged the pipe from the CAT in the engine bay. I did gain a little MPGs, maybe 0.5 to 1MPG HWY with the headers and no AIV or EGR. The biggest thing was a smoother idle. You might bet better responsivemess too. I cannot confirm as mine was pulled when headers went it which resulted in much more power, better MPG and much better responsiveness.

  4. Just with headers and the factory cat back I accidentally churp tires on occasion with 237/75/15s on steelies. Ive churped them in 3rd before and I have a 4.11 rear end.

Id love to do some torque cams and see where that goes. I dont care about HP, I like torque.

Love the sound of a supercharger so thats the main reason why I want one. Would probably be easier to do a VG30e supercharged than the i unless its a cintrifugal supercharger and only due to space constraints. The throttle body is kinda high and the pully might hit the hood.

  5. You guys an all of your talk of training critters. My mom has the ADD, ADHD energizer dog that will get distracted before he covers 30 feet. He likes to go out in the meadow and run in circles while staring at the sky. Training him is hard. Give him a command and by the time he starts to respond he has forgotten about it. He is a mini aussie/husky mix. Fluffist thing in the world. Also the most retarded. When ever I try to take a photo of him he has a dumb look on his face.

Parents also have chickens, horses, cats and a sheep right now. While I lived at home we had goats, pigeons, lots more chickens, a burro, parrots and fish.

The only pet I have is a Peach Face Love Bird named Killer. He has more energy most days than the energizer bunny on drugs. Constantly shredding paper and toilet paper rolls and stuffing them in his tail feathers. Training this little bugger is constant battle. He has been at the point where he does not pinch you at all for a while but not much past that. He just chews on everything.

Cant get a photo to work today for some reason.

  6. Not knowing where you are in Mississippi I just picked the middle - Bienville National Forest - and it looks like about 9.5 Hrs@ 657 miles. But there are PLENTY of places closer to Mississippi than Richloam for some good trails. Even Georgia has some great trails. An easy way to find them is to just google " Jeep Trails <Local Area where you live>"

    Good Luck

Good guess! Im currently in progress with moving to the Jackson area.

Thats kinda far for a weekend of wheeling. Dang.

From the little bit Ive seen on the net it seems like there will be more mud than Im used to up north. Where I used to live it was all sand, rocks, trees and mountains. Even the pass between my town and the next was at least 1000 feet for gain.

  7. Tires and driving technique really make a difference in the winter. My Les Shwab special ATs suck in every condition other than dry road or tarmac in the rain. My BF AT KOs dont do the best in the rain on tarmac but are pretty well amazing in most other things Ive tried. They are great in the snow because they like to dig. I rarely run in 4wd unless its just too slick to stand on the road, deep snow or I need to slow down faster using the motor. When it swings out the rear it goes really fast because the rig is so short.

  8. Sorry for the delay. I installed it in the truck, was not happy with how it looked and some wiring issues so it did not work at all. Got pissed and ripped it out. Playing with some other stuff too with it. Need to step back and re-design the housing and see why I was getting really weird results with the MAP sensor. It would just bounce 10PSI, say 14SPI to 4PSI or 13PSI to 3PSI and back.

Here is the code as of right now:

  9. If you'd like, I can try to do the data filtering for you. My last final is next Wednesday, so I could probably have it done by Wednesday afternoon

That would be pretty cool! Would you just make a function that takes the raw and filters it or can I even feed it the converted data?
  10. Haha! Sometimes they do strange things. I did some heavy throttle for a couple days, 4k shifts and what not. 19MPG out of a little VG30i with headers! Also accidentally spun the tires a couple times.

Started making the enclosure my arduino project will sit in. Eventually of like to get a touch screen for it.

  11. For the inclinometer being more sensitive than you'd like, you could always try some Fourier data filtering.

Sounds intense. Im not good with Fourier math. Right now it is a 1:1 read and update. I could slow down the update and sacrifice some visual smoothness. I am also hoping that someday Ill understand the chip enough to remove any bounce when doing something like hitting a bump. For wheeling it will probably work fine. Has the same characteristics with bump handling as the OEM one, just more sensitive.

My C++ is also super rusty and useless. When I get it mounted I plan to make it easy for me to pull it out and work with it more. At that point Ill look more into ways of filtering and using the gyros to help compensate for bouncing. Right now the back light hates me and I have no idea why. My code is 100% correct but something with how it all is together makes it not work properly.
