  1. What did u you end up getting from japan? Is it the car in your sig? If so thats a nice ride man

    Much thanks brother.

    R32 Skyline GTR.

Original owner kept it clean, some nice small mods. Nothing huge, which I like. Gives me more room for personal prefs and mods etc.

Next year I hope to import a Nissan Pulsar GTIR. (need a spunky little winter beater:P)

Love your Z31 edicer, I Had a few in my time. Miss them very much. 88 was a beaut, but there was something about my 86 that held my heart. All gone to good homes.

Your pathy looks nice aswell. You have great taste in cars;)

  2. Great site it is.

    As for the rust;

    it was taken care of.

Sandblaster and wire discs killed the rust,

rotten frame is better then factory, all new and double haul.

Was easy to do when the body came off before the 3'' BL.

body was all replaced with metal, aside from some spot putty to fix up stone chips.

everything behind the bumpers, under the wheel flares, and frame was all sprayed with polyurethane before paint.

I dont cut corners, so no worries of the "rust and new owner"

  3. Pathfinder owner no more.

Sold my 95 SE to my cousin.

Broke my heart to sell it,

I just like to thank everyone on NPORA

you guys helped big time with the "re-build' of my Wd21.

    Right from day 1.

All your posts whether it was trouble shooting or known facts.

NPORA saved me 1000's on tylenol and advil!

Thought i'd throw up some pics from start to end.

My pathy will live on, because the money I sold it for...

put a nice deposit on my dream car, imported straight from Japan.

    Thanks again everyone.

  4. Hey guys i got a photobucket now. I ended up making some custom mounts to get the brush gaurd to fit and cut off the extra on the bottom also cleaned it up and it turned out great. Let me know what you guys think. Not bad for getting it for 20$ huh?

    Good score,

I just picked up a brush guard, alluminum side steps(same as the ones i use to have) and another hood guard for $100.

Originally i just planned for a sahara bar, but i couldnt pass up that deal. Your pics gave me an idea of what to do for new brackets.. the brush bar was from a '95, and mine is a '95. nothing matched up. (possibly because of my 3'' BL?) So i thank you for the insight.

Now i just have to re-locate those darn foglights

  5. I think the 95's have an alarm system that kills the fuel flow when activated. Should bypass this when the key is turned. Do you hear your fuel pump when you turn the key on?

^as above.. turn the key on without starting it.. the 95's have a fuel pump indicator, it beeps or what have you while the pump kicks in. no indicator no pump.

    (edit)

u have fuel. so forget that part. Unplug the battery, go under your driver seat and unplug the alarm module. put the lugs back on your battery and try that. if that doesnt work, then its not your alarm.

  6. didnt read everyones post, but i had the same issue with my 95 SE, my speedo went haywire, odometer, even gas hand went hairy, I picked up a cheap 94 XE with over 350,000km and swapped the whole dash cluster. Everything works great now, the only thing i dont like about doing a used swap, is the odometer reads approx 100,000km more then my SE has.

    *EDIT*

I originally thought myself it was the speedo cable as well. But everything in my dash cluster was electronic, before you go out and do whatever you will.. maybe spend an arm and a leg, hit the wreckers and grab a dash cluster and try it out.. theres nothing to removing and replacing. One of the quicker/easier fixes and if thats not the problem then its process of elim my friend.

  7. Suck it up!! Everything rots. Last year before the winter i replaced the driver and pass. side of the frame on my '95 SE. By far the worst frame rot i've seen on a pathy or just about anything. It takes minimal time to fix.

I also have bad rot at the rear bumper part of the frame. I have a friend who owns a steel fab shop, he was kind enough to cut me 2 pieces of C channel at 4'' to slide inside my frame at the rear and drill 2 new holes for my bumper mount bolts. All it takes is minimal brain cells to figure out a solution. Dont have a friend with a steel fab shop.. try a store like Princess Auto.

  8. thought i'd toss in some pics, show u what i had to start off with for a pathy, and whats shes slowly progressing to be. Too many projects on the go. Poor pathy doesnt get the attention it deserves. So far all i've accomplished is the custom rockers, bumper donated from my 94 (r.i.p), 3'' BL, BIG TIME frame repair, new brake lines, soon to be cut off to make way for the 3'' SL. some other odds and ends, nothing extreme.

After the SL and snorkel, new paint, 33's, custom skid plate with a custom sahara bar, custom rear dif cover/guard, manual hub locks, new exhaust, the list goes on!!!!

i think the ford f-150 suffered more

    as of today...

  9. I bought 2 aftermarket 5x8s, they were a little chunky for the speaker covers, some banging of the fist fixed it, barely ever know. 200 watt a piece. ok for the alternative/rock i listen to. Sony xplode amp did just that "xplode" stock deck's running all the speakers now.

  10. Ordered my BL from 4x4parts, asked around, most expensive quote $2,000!!!! NUTS! cheapest was $750.

a friend and I did the BL on a sat and sunday. Couldve done it in 1 day, but the beer was a major distraction. not to mention all the time it took to re-align the body. oops

  11. 350 in a pathy, sounds lame. I hate domestic vehicles, use to be a chev truck guy... then i got my pathy. I guess if you want a cheap engine chev is the way to go. I'd rather cough up the extra cash and keep it Nissan 100%. ei: vg30dett or even better----> rb26dett <---- Pathy gone Godzilla!! I've been considering it, but I'm satisfied with the vg30, hell if my z31's took the abuse i threw at them, then its more then good enough for my wd21.

  12. I have the same problem. But the battery died in a different manner. I really would love to find out how to fix this problem, as I was about to go and buy a new alarm system to replace this one.

Any electronic geniuses out there :crossedwires: ?

my battery died twice, first time was because of the alarm, and the last time.. i have no clue why..

before it died the last time the alarm and the keyless remote all worked perfectly..

I did however install new switches in my drivers door... was thinking it wasnt connected fully, but all the switches work etc, I'll make a note to re-check... my luck its something that simple.. but i doubt it.

and I never thought to check the 'button' or whatever for the hood, but i changed all that recently too, as well as a new hood and fender, the hatch and wheel carrier are all tight, doors etc... I was thinking maybe dampness in the doors.. its rain alot lately.. but there's a drain in the bottom of every door, and I just replaced all the weather stripping in the windows...the last thing i want to do is take into the dealership

I'm absolutely boggled!! I need my alarm.. all my tools for work are stored in it, and my garage has no room with that stupid '72 Charger.. :suicide:

  13. Just got back from a 1 month vacation

while i was gone the neighbour told me the morning i had left, the alarm in my '95 went nuts,

he came over and unplugged the horns...and that was that..

Well sure enough when i got back my battery was dead.. so i took it into the garage and charged it,

then had to charge it again yesterday..

Now somewhere between now and then something went wrong with the alarm,

I put my battery back in this morning fully charged but..

My keyless entry doesnt work and the security light is "fast flashing" nonstop

I've tried dosconnecting the battery and re-connecting it, i've unplugged the Security switch,

I've turned security off and on, I've started the truck etc, i've even replaced the battery in the keyless entry remote...

Remote still isnt working, and the security light is still flashing.(even with the switch "off")

The alarm isnt sounding and the lights arent flashing..

Does anyone have any clue on what i need to do..

I dont live in the safest neighbourhood so I'd rather not disable the alarm for good.

  14. Here's a couple....

First order of things will be to get rid of the goofy teal pinstriping and 4x4 decals. Why do people do this? I mean, anyone interested enough to look at the thing already knows it's a 4x4, right? Next will be new tires, possible rims, and probably the Calmini steering kit. (front end seems to have a bad case of wanderlust) Already took care of the other major component - the Stereo!

    truck looks great EH!

i sometimes wonder about the decals too, but each to their own,

mine has some ugly stock ones, under about 2 layers of clearcoat

heres wishing you more luck with them then I.

  15. I ordered a rocker panel kit from AC when i ordered my BL

No problems with body lift kit itself, so no rant there

    BUT... http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...892f0804a19239e

what would u expect from this???^^^^^^

I dont know what some of you people consider a Rocker Panel

but a rocker panel is located UNDER THE BLOODY DOORS!

So, I ordered what I thought was a rocker panel kit,

and what i got I'll attach to this rant.

Now, I have a friend who owns a steel fab shop, he's quiet succesful.. and I myself have the means in my backyard to construct this "fancy part" I could have picked up some cheap stainless steel sheeting and taken it to my garage throw it down on the bandsaw ...and later, gone to my aluminum break and done the rest.

  16. That's why before putting any blocks in, remove the rearmost bolts and replace with the longer ones for the body lift. That way, the body stays aligned while jacking the truck up, and you can get the blocks/bolts in easily. Remember to lift, and insert blocks on one side at a time. Once the front 8 blocks are in, remove the rear bolts again, slide in the blocks and reinstall the bolts. :aok:

    Had I have known that,

It would have saved me a load of trouble,

    But again,

Got the lift VIA Fed Ex, went right at it ASAP.

I know myself, I have less then few patience, so taking a break from the truck to come sit down on the computer to spend who knows how long to find a solution... I could have it all said and done and looking for something else to break in the meantime.

  17. Ok I got it with alot of prying. P...

    *BUMP*

I had a huge issue with the body moving too,

after lifting and placing mounts, realized that only 1 driver side bolts could go,

Pass. side was gone to China...

Luckily I have a '96 F250 with a dump box and heavy duty tailgate.

Took a long 2x4 placed it against the firewall of the pathy and backed the ford up to the otherend of the 2x4,

Took the "come along" or if you prefer "chainfile" and attached one end to the center of the Fords rear bumper, and the other end attached to the pass. side "tow hook" on the pathy.

A couple of pulls with the come along and the body shifted to exactly where i needed it to go.

I'm sure there are more professional ways of doing it, but sometimes you have to make due with what you have.

Thought I'd share, This seems to be a common problem

  18. Cant seem to find weather stipping anywhere(for all 4 windows)

except for at the Nissan Dealer, they want $83.00 ea. +taxes

    Looking at $381.80 taxes in.

they also want over $300 for a speedometer (mines lazy)

80 and some odd dollars for a replacement drivers side 'heat vent"(small in dash)

    PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!!!

I have almost everything i need for my truck, except these dinky parts at monster prices

Does anyone know of where(website or 'store') that i could get atleast the weather stripping for cheaper

I've searched and came up with no solutions..

    help would be greatly appreciated

    Much thanks in advance

    Skot

  19. ^^ but again, given the lift..

If i went with 3+3 i would no doubt hit the dirtiest of trails, and have more confidence with the truck.

As for prices, doesn't sound bad at all... i was expecting triple that USD.

Money's not too much of an issue, it's more so my lack of knowledge in this field.

If i had friends in the States..I'd have them make me up a package and ship it out here etc..

but another lacking area, as well as not knowing what exact parts etc..

anyway, I've checked out some forums and gotten thus far, things look a little clearer, but alot of it is babble and gibberish. Can't make too much sense of it at all.
