I have a Pathfinder 2000 LE (used one, bought in 2011 @ 115K miles). It now has about 134K on it...
I have been facing an unusual issue, explained below:
1. About 45 minutes after I turn off engine after a reasonable drive (when temp level is still close to the middle), if I start it again, it jerks a lot when I turn to reverse / drive gear and RPM fluctuates below the normal level for idle (less than 0.5)
2. When it does that (jerking), if I increase the gas inflow (push accelearation a couple of times), it gets normal - RPM gets steady, no jerking and drives normally
3. This happens only for the situation explained in #1 (after about 45 minutes of driving and turning off, when starting again)
4. No check engine light on
5. Doesn't do this during any other start up (first for the day / more than 1 / 2 hours after turning off the engine)
This has been happening for a few months now and following is what has been tried:
1. First time when this happend, engine was shut off after the jerking. I had to tow it to a mechanic. He found that the spark plugs were going bad. All of them were changed
2. The jerking problem didn't stop. I took it to another mechanic, who said it would be the MAF. MAF was changed
3. The problem is still there... Recommendation from the first mechanic is that I try a new distributor...
I am not sure if anyone has faced this issue or heard of this before... Any help would be much appreciated...
Note that there is NO other issue / symptom than the jerking...
Thanks...
