yup I drilled weep holes and used thicker stock. It is so nice to have my car running again.

after about a month of work in the shop over christmas break I finally finished reframing the back half of the pathfinder. the rot started about the center of the rear wheel arch and got worse from there so I dropped the axle and gas tank cut the frame before the rot and rebuilt it. the part that took forever was grinding all the hardware off the old frame rails and cleaning the up so they could be welded to the new frame rails. it is so nice to have my daily driver back and maybe no feel comfortable doing some mild off-roading with it

I plan to take the axle completely apart, have the housing powder coated, put all new bearings and all new seals and possible new gears. this is going to take some time so the plan was to get a second axle so my daily driver wouldn't be out of commision while I'm working on it. otherwise I would agree with you yes just replace the seals. and besides if I get a second axle I can find one already setup for rear disc and hopefully make that swap easier.

my pathfinder is my daily driver and I want to rebuild the rear axle because the rear seals are leaking so I plan to get another one from a salvage yard hopefully with rear disc brakes. I also want to do a disc brake conversion. I know that disc brakes were optional. My question is will the axle with rear disc brakes bolt up in place of the drum brake axle or will I have to do suspension modification? my axle is an H233B My next question is will I have to do any modification the the ABS system to acomidate the new setup My pathfinder is a 93 4X4 XE Has anyone else done this swap?

I think I may have solved this one myself I hope. I talked to state line nissan in kansas city and they said nissan oil filters have a rubber flapper that acts as a check valve and prevents the oil from running out of the filter. most aftermarket filters do not have this flapper and over time the oil drains out of the filter and causes the oil system to need to be reprimed. I plan to replace my oil filter and see if that solves the issue. the other thing that I have been told could be a suspect is the oil I am useing (I switched from a conventional oil to casterol gtx synthetic blend) so to divide and conquer this issue if the filter does not solve it I will change the oil again. I have also done some research I just got this vehicle recently and I am not sure which oil was used in this car during it's life but it may have been penzoil if it was penzoil it contains a perafin based addative that sticks to the sides of the engine and traps dirt. this is not an issues unless you switch oils to a high deturgent oil which disolves this parafin coating. if the coating disolves in high milage engines it can clog oil journels and cause major engine issues. I think useing an oil stabilizer at this point to solve this issue may be premature and it will thicken the oil and possibly complicate the issue. I will post more on this issue as I solve it. I have also been told by a mechanic I trust that this will not harm the engine as long as you do not hit the throttle while it is noisey.

I have a 93 pathfinder and after it has set for a while like overnight at startup for a second it makes a horrible clacking noise like it is starving for oil. it is not exhaust manifold noise, this is different it sounds like really loud lifter noise. my oil level is full and I had an oil change 600 miles ago. this is new since the last oil change. should I change the oil again? has any one else experienced this issue. I had a mechanic tell me that the sound is the engine starving for oil. he suggested running seafoam in the oil and changing it again soon does this sound reasonable? my pathfinder has 176000 miles on it.

I would like to do a 2.5 inch suspension lift on my 93 pathfinder and have several questions. here is the lift kit description I was looking at. I am new to pathfinders How hard are pathfinders to lift? Does this kit look ok quality? has anyone used this kit before? How much should I be worried about blowing cv and universal joints? (this is my daily driver) Pathfinder Custom Suspension Lift Will give 2.5" to 3" of lift. Lift includes new chromally upper control arms, poly bushings, hardware, 3" lift coils and complete installation instructions. Will help correct ball joint angles and allow for proper camber. Gives an additional 1 to 1.5" of wheel travel. Easy to install.

How hard is to install warn premium hubs in a 1993 nissan pathfinder with automatic hubs? has anyone run into problems with this upgrade?
