Purchased 12/12 from someone who didn't take enough care of it. Fancy (heavy duty) rock sliders and a 3" body lift-- neither of which the last owner knew about. Now on 265-45-17s, needing to level up the front end and get some taller tires. Projects!

  1. Resurrection of an ancient thread here- anybody still have a copy of this manual they can share? I've been searching and can't find it. I have the quick reference sheet, but it doesn't tell me how to activate the alarm- cycling the key and flipping the switch doesn't work, apparently they designed this over my mechanical skill level of "monkey". Help is appreciated!
  2. Where is the lock timer? My drivers side door lock is screwed up, i can't unlock it with the key, it feels stiff than just spins without unlocking. Maybe this is part of the problem. I have the factory security system, but no remote-- Its kind of a pain to get locked out, walk around the car, unlock it, then either crawl over the center console or run around the car again I get the feeling people just follow me to get a good laugh at this point. Kind of a side note, but has anyone replaced the factory key fob with an aftermarket one? I want to get one hooked up to my factory alarm to be able to get in with keyless entry, it seems easier (and probably even cheaper) than replacing the door lock and having it re-keyed. If anyone had the alarm manual it would be a huge help, too. I have parts of different manuals in the glove box from the lady I got it from, but most are torn up and the rest are pretty mangled.
  3. Aside from celebrating that the Mayans were wrong about the world ending today, I'm going crazy trying to figure out a wiring/security/bad design thing. I have a 1994 Pathfinder XE, 5 speed (though I don't see how it matters for this). The doors lock automatically, though i can't figure out a pattern to it. If I'm driving, pull out my key and close the doors, it locks. (ok) If I unlock the door by key, turning it twice, it unlocks all the doors.. than a second later re-locks them all. If i do it again, they stay unlocked. If I unlock it from inside, 50% of the time they all unlock, the other half of the time they re-lock themselves. On my E-brake handle I have a switch for security- one way is on, other is off and middle senses impact. the LED doesn't light up on it no matter where it is, and it doesn't seem to affect the locking. Where would i start looking? I'd love to make it NOT lock by itself, ever. I'd like to be in charge of my car as opposed to being locked out. Help?
