  1. two other wiring issues I've had were the clutch pedal clutch pedal ignition lock switch. I installed a new one as these distort over time and if you really want to have fun, run the wires up to to a toggle switch mounted somewhere on the dash.. (I'm currently running a pigtail loop locked into the harness). Another issue is the fuse on the interlock relay. wires (it's by the battery and has two wires, one going to the battery and the other to the ignition components connected). Check the fuse or do what i did and make a brand new one. I can post photos later. I had problems starting my truck and some days it would not start and those two mods have made my '93 pathy start with the first turn of the key.
  2. if your door locks are autolocking/refuse to lock. there is actually a door switch around the latch that wears out over time. replace those and all will be good in the world. door switch
  3. Three years later, I'd like to know where a carb adapter exists so i can swap in a big bore carb as well. I better make friends with a smog inspection place.
  4. My parents own a '99 and I own a '93.. the spacing is the same, just don't tell me parents Also, given this same discussion.. I am certainly planning on picking up some Titan No Fear Weld Racing rims and converting my little WD21 into a Bowler Wildcat Wannabe.. of course.. I have plans.. including vacuum bagging and composites. I'll keep you updated as extra money comes in and, space becomes available. I have experience with vacuum bagging surfboards and body panels for my Honda Civic that I used for rally racing.. TAP plastics carries a nice Carbon/Kevlar weave that works well with traditional UV resins. I smell a build.. Why'd I get a Pathy?!? Just another money-pit.
  5. using WD40.. i had recently put some in a pump spray bottle but i had sprayed down both sides. I think I'll try your suggestion of spraying down one side and take it for a drive. thank you.
  6. Oh darn, I should have been more specific. I recently had the entire front suspension rebuilt 20k miles ago but it looks like they left all of the original bushings in place. I greased them up but the squeaks are back so I'm going to do this again but replace it all.
  7. I said it.. now, I plan on gutting/painting/modifying my truck but I've got to make my truck soundly, quiet again. My question is this. What's the different between the D21 suspension system and WD21 system? I found this kit on energy suspension parts and it seems like a nicely, wrapped up kit that I can order and do the bushing swaps with. Is it compatible with the WD21? I have the mechanical know-how but I lack the experience so I'll install whatever I need in stages since it'll be slow going, solo. Please let me know if this is right or if you have an idea, what I should order? http://www.energysuspensionparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=PackageDeal017
  8. I'm a new member, recent lurker and my truck currently sounds like a cheap motel bed (squeaks around turns, as I turn the steering, etc + the steering clunk). About my little pathy first. I was a former rice rocket driver (yeah, swaps, etc.) and I've had a lot of repairs done to it so when the reverse went out on it, again I decided to check recall reports and find something reliable. I came across the Nissan Pathfinder WD21 so I started shopping. I checked all weekend out of desperation and found.. a 1993 white Pathy XE with 44,500 miles for $2800. Nothing mechanically wrong aside from a turn signal and headlamp and the cruise control.. projects in the making but an otherwise great truck. I've had to replace the entire suspension after I hit 120k so that's all relatively fresh. Rust.. is starting to appear so I'm going to patch up the spots but my plans for that are.. a little extreme. I hate rust, I absolutely hate it so I started looking online for durable paint that will resist the vigors of daily life like.. people carelessly dinging your door in a parking garage, bushes that i drive through, trees that decide to get in my way and notably, rabid wombats.. the little turds always find me. Anyway, I am going to order two-three cans of truck bedliner from a little company called Durabak. They make truck bedliner paint in the characteristic rough for the bed but.. they also make a gloss so I'm going to repaint my entire truck with gloss on the outside, tear out the rapist red carpeting and I think I'll go with beige on the inside for dirt but the red dash so I'm thinking a smooth Forest Green on the outside, keep the red seats/dash/floormats and use rough Beige on the inside. I'm also considering replacing the headliner material with shades of green or brown. I think I need to draw up a sketch and incorporate any possible, useless ebay buys I might want to integrate into the electrical. Right now, it's a white pathy, rear tire holder with the dark maroon/blood colored interior with light beige/gray on the roof. It's a 2wd.. so I was thinking about a baja conversion over a dedicated 4wd conversion. I have no idea how to go about that aside from bigger tires, a wheel well trim and I'll likely upgrade to thicker, beefier suspension components, racing seats, etc. I suppose I'll have to port/sleeve the engine at some point too.. I wonder if it'd be cheaper to buy a new truck but who cares. I live by a beach so why not?
