  1. There is a thread pinned in the General section that lists vendors.

    B

I tried clicking on the links but it wont pull anything up. Im wanting to know if there is any special things I need to raise or extend. I have the lift blocks already but didnt want to tackle it untill I nade sure I didnt need anything special. Also whats the diffrence in the aftermarket uca's vs the stock ones. Are the aftermarket ones longer if so how much.

  2. Was wondering if it was possible to interchange yota parts with nissans. I have a buch of yota parts from builds I done in the past. I would love to do a sas using the yota front axle but realy dont want to cut it to make it driver side diff to mate up to nissan drive shaft. Is there any adapters to swap from nissan trans case to yota? Or maybe even adapting the yota tranny and trans case to my pathy to get the trans case and diff to line up? Just hate to see all the parts not getting any use. I have springs and front and rear axles(with 5.29 gears) and a 5 speed tranny and trans case from early 80s yota. My pathy is a automatic and I would love to have the 5 speed and gear ratio from my parts.

  3. id re-frame the toyota honestly, I like those early pickups. Do the round headlight swap, paint it up in a sweet dated factory stripe package and have a cool little buggy to put around in while taking the pathfinder under the knife!

    Sorry, I ain't helpful

Do you have any pics of the pathy after the swap. I have a toyota solid axle in my shop I was thinking about putting it in my pathy. Just wanted to see what the out come would be like before I cut into it.

  4. Most of the mounts at the frame could be straightened with a BFH...body being tweaked is a lil different...and body lifts can be challenging....I've done 2 almost flawlessly but they have both been custom

I havent had any luck finding a body lift for my 95 se 4 door. Anyone have an idea where I can find one.

  5. My 95 pathy has a switch in it that says sport/comfort and a pic of a shock. It doesnt have air shocks but it does have 2 little wires goin to the top of the shocks. I have tried it in both positions and really didnt notice a diffrence. Just wondering what the diff is between the two positions. I think it still has the factory shocks on it.

  6. After deep thinking (not to deep) I have decided to go with a 5 speed swap in my 95 se. It currently has a automatic tranny that needs rebuilt. My question about the swap is what year 5 speed do I need and does it matter if it comes out of a pathy or hardbody truck.

  7. Sup guys. How important is it to have the leaf spring eyes sitting fairly level? I have a 88 pathy sas'd with a waggy d44. Im using yota rear leafs up front. As it sits, the rear eye of the front leafs sit quite a bit lower than the front. I have my shackle mounts welded under the frame instead of through it. I am trying to keep the pathy as low as i can. I know i could go through the frame and gain a little height back as far as the eyes being level. But is it that important? Thanks in advance

What year waggy did you get the axle out of. how hard was the swap. I have done a swap on a yota before but havent yet on a nissan. I want to swap my 95 se to a solid axle.

  8. I didn't fix it. I swapped it for a 5speed.

At the time, I was certain it was broken. Since I've done the swap, I've had some doubt that maybe, possibly it could have been saved. Maybe the cooler had a clog, and all I needed to do was get rid of that clog?

Eh. I don't really care anymore because the 5speed is sooooo much fun. I don't even remember driving it with an automatic. Never looked back.

How hard was the swap to do. My concern is weather or not I would have issues with the computer in my truck. did u get thevparts as needed or did u have a parts truck to rob. I had a 5 speed in my hardbody truck and I loved it.

  9. that's exactly what happened to mine. Minus the shuddering on the highway and stuff like that. Actually, I still had reverse. I had 2nd and 3rd gear only. No matter what gear I put it in, it would start out in 2nd and sluggishly accelerate.

It might have been a fixable problem at one point, but 3 months down the road is a different story. Get a used one out of a wd22 as said above or slap a 5speed in there.

What did u do to fix yours. I would love to have a 5speed but I dont know how hard it would be to put it. I know i would need the pedals and slave cylinder but what about my computer. Would my cross member and drive shaft still work. What year exterra would I need to look for if I went that route.

  10. Ok thoughtbi would give it another shot. I have a 95 se 4x4 v6 with auto tranny. I was goin down the highway at 70mph and the truck kinda stumbled a lil then picked right back up. Kept goin about another 5 or 6 miles and then came to stop. Went to pull off and it shuddered and made some crazy noises and didnt want to go. I got it to move enuff to get to a empty lot. I checked the fluid and it was full, didnt smell funny and it looked good. There were no leaks anywhere. I let it cool for an hour and then tried to drive it. It had no reverse and only worked in what I thought was 1st and 2nd. I changed the fluid and filter when I got it home. There wasnt any metal or anything in the pan. I have been driving it since then with no reverse or high gear. I only have 2nd and 3rd. I have to let it get up to 3500 rpms and let off throttle to get it to shift. The 4 wheel drive works great still and motor still runs great. I have been driving it this way for about 3 months now. Just lookin for any ideas on what it could be. I have tried everything except pulling the tranny out to rebuild it. I got some great info from guys on here a couple weeks ago but I had no luck with anything yet. Just wondering if I may have missed something that might help.

  11. Well after many attemps to get her to go. The wife finaly went off roading today. It was her first time in the drivers seat off road. She enjoyed every minute. She said herbtruck wasnt dirty enuff so we made two more trips down the trail. I thought she would have back out of goin up the hills and ruff stuff but no way. She was so excited to be driven. Now she wants mud tires and new wheels and custom bumpers. I may have created a monster. Looks like I will be adding mods to 2 vehicles now. Hers isnt a nissan but that could be changed quickly.

  12. If you feel confident rebuilding the auto yourself and saving lots of money, then by all means go that route. But swapping in a 5 speed isnt that difficult, and as Precise said there are a few threads around with people who did it. When I was shopping for mine, I ran the other way when I found out it was a auto, unless they had a warranty from just rebuilding it.

I am definatly goin to look into doing the swap. Thanks for the info. Yeah I almost turned away from it when I seen it was an auto but I couldnt pass the deal up. This thing is loaded in options (not that I need all of them). Plus the a/c blows icee cold and it has power everything. I originaly bought it for my wife but I just couldnt bring myself to give it to her. Its my third nissan and I love these things. I was a toyota man for years but after my first nissan I was changed. My second one was my all out favorite one but like an idiot I sold it. I've tried to buy it back several times but the guy wont sell it. So I bought this one when I found it. I have big plans for it. First thing is to fix tranny. I will try to get some pics up as I build it.

  13. Have you considered swapping a 5 speed in?

I would love to swap in a 5 speed but I dont know how hard it would be. I was, lookin for a 5 speed pathfinder but I couldnt pass up on the deal I got on this one. it's gonna be $900 to fix my auto. But if I could swap in a 5 speed cheaper I would much rather do that. What all would I need to do the swap? will my current drive shafts work with a 5 speed.

  14. :clickdalink:

I'm not sure what you'd scan to see if it's in limp mode... IIRC the light on the power mode switch blinks if it's limping.

Well after rulling everything out, its official. The tranny must come out. Still no reverse. Has anybody here rebuilt their auto tranny themselves. How difficult is it. I've never done a tranny before but I have done everything else from engines to rear ends and ect.. I have a quote for someone to do it but I was gonna try to save some $ if possible. Any info would be great.

  15. I think it just went into limp mode from the sounds of it. My od worked (while coasting) but it would leave from second. Try as Slartiebartfat said and unhook the battory.

I have a 95 se 4x4 v6 automatic. It was running great ob the interstate on day and I came to a stop on the exit ramp and when I went to pull off it wouldnt hardly go and I had no reverse. It was as if it was stuck in a high gear. I pull the tranny pan and found no metal or any type of particles. So I changed the filter and fluid. The reverse still doesnt work and neither does 3rd or od. I have to rev the motor to 3,000 rpms to let it shift from 1st to 2nd. Any ideas what it could be. Other than the tanny issues everything works great.
